‘Peggy’ Yuhas Honored
Steven ‘‘Peggy’’ Yuhas of 1026 Main St., Swoyersville was recently honored with a party on his
80th birthday. The party was given by his children at the home ‘of his son and daughter-in-law

Lupinsky Sworn In
Richard Lupinsky of Main St., Swoyersville was recently sworn in as a board member of the
Swoyersville Planning Commission by Chairman Paul Bieley at the recent council meeting with
Michael Emershaw presiding. The meeting was held at the Swoyersville Municipal Building.
Joseph Sieminski of Creek St., Swoyersville will be sworn in as a board member at the next
council meeting, scheduled for Aug. 1. Pictured above are members of council and other

Victory
The Invaders kept up
their winning ways as they
took a 3-0 win over the
Express in the Swoyers-
ville Pool League.
George Nemetz led the
way for the Invaders with
14 balls and one win, Peter
Cwalina Jr. made three
and a win, and Jim Sarti
made six and one win. For
the Express, Dave Check
and Bob Gaydos made
eight balls apiece. Tom
and Jim Cruthers were
blanked out.
The Generals tied the
Stars® for second spot as
they whipped the Stars by
a 3-0 score. Worler Worlin-
sky showed his stuff as he
made 21 balls and won the
- three games. Chooch Gon-
glefski had an off night but
it didn’t matter as the
Worler had a hot night.
Chooch made one ball. For
the Stars, Pete Cwalina Sr.
made 18 ‘balls and Andy
Ference had two balls
made.
The Blitz lost the first
game to the Bandits but
came back strong to win
the next two and a 2-1 win.
John Urban was the "hot
shooter with 15 balls made
and two wins. Steve Adam-
chak Jr. made two balls.
For the Bandits, Scoop
Gula made 16 balls and
had a win and Cutter Kar-
asinski made nine balls.
Top five shooters are
Pete Cwalina Sr., 5.64;
George Nemetz 4.91;
Worler Worlinski 4.90; Joe
Koval 3.88; Dave Check
3.51.

The Swoyersville Open Golf Tourna-
ment was held recently at the Happy
Valley Golf Course in Exeter. Dick
Evanoski and Bernie “Turp” Kovalick
served as co-chairmen of this year’s
affair. ;
Following the tourney, approximately
60 participants were treated to a meal
prepared by Policare of Kingston and
served at the No. 2 Hose House on
Slocum St., Swoyersville.
Toastmaster of the affair was Dick
Evanoski. Main speaker was Magis-
Joe Ranieli R.Ph.
trate Andrew Barilla who stressed that
the only thing he couldn’t understand
was how Eddie ‘‘Hubby Wheeler” Kole-
sar beat him in the tournament.
The men would like to thank Mrs.
Gert Evanoski, Mrs. Betty Perzia, Jus-
tine Perzia and Dan Agourey for the
fine work they did in keeping scores for
the tournament.
Tournament winners were presented
with trophies while everyone who
attended the banquet was presented
with a gift.

non-profit self-help group
for persons who suffer
from depression, stress,
tension and other related
symptons of nervousness,
meets on the first and
third Wednesday of each
month at 7:30 p.m. in the
, First Church of Christ
Uniting, Market St., Kings-
ton.
The group counselors
are qualified to teach
people a better way of
living, to enjoy peace of
mind and to cope with
problems. Their objectives
are to help people reach
the goals they want and to
feel good while trying to
reach them.
