Everyone realizes the
importance of computer
literacy in this day and
age and to help keep up
with the changing times
and the needs of the
upcoming college students,
Luzerne County Commu-
nity College has added to
its approximately 53 one
and two-year programs of
study a new two-year asso-
ciate in science degree
program in Computer Sci-
ence.
Designed for students
planning to transfer to a
four-year degree program
in computer science, the
program is being offered
for the first time in the
Fall 1983 semester.
Besides the English, his-
tory, speech, science and
social science course
requirements; the pro-
gram will deal heavily in
the math and computer
science area.
Among the math courses
required for the program
are Calculus I, II and III
and Differential Equa-
tions. Computer courses to
be offered include Intro-
