Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary
will hold an indoor flea
market June 4. The doors
will open at 9 a.m. at the

Sweet Valley. Price per
table is $5. Reservations

Company will sponsor a
Chicken Bar-B-Que Satur-
day, June 4, from 3:30
p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Fire

ton Mills. Menu includes

The Carverton United
Methodist Women will hold
a rummage and bake sale
at the church on Saturday,
June 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 3
p.m. Donations may be
dropped off at the church
on Thursday, June 2 or
will be picked up by call-
ing either 696-1930 or 696-
1244.
The Back Mountain Jay-
C-ettes recently honored
two very active and dedi-
cated women at a dinner
meeting on May 16, Carol
Honko and Joanie Mar-
shall. Both women are
moving to different loca-
tions.
Carol Honko and her
family ‘are moving to
Clearfield, Pa. She has
been an asset to the Back
Mountain Jay-C-ettes since
she has joined in 1977.
Carol has chaired projects,
such as Entries (two
years) for the Luzerne
County Fall Fair, Library
Auction, Pictures with
Santa, Easter candy sale,
and hoagie sale. She
served on many other
committees throughout her
years as a Jay-C-ette.
Carol held the offices of
Director and President.
She has received awards
such as Outstanding and
Exceptional Jay-C-ette for
her cecntribution to the
club and community.
Carol is married to Tony
Honko and has two chil-
dren, Tony Jr., 8 and
Tracey, 5.
Joanie Marshall and her
family are moving to Wil-
mington, Dela. She also
has been an outstanding
Jay-C-ette since she has
joined in 1979. Joanie has
chaired projects such as
Christmas and Easter
candy sales, Project Con-
Carl S. Kepka, Dallas,
recently retired from the
Federal Aviation Adminis-
tration after completing
almost 30 years of service
with the U.S. Government.
He served eight years with

with the FAA. In 1960 he
was honorably discharged
from the U.S. Navy and
started employment with
the FAA as an electronic
technician at the Greater
Pittsburgh Airport. He
was transferred to the Red
Rock Mountain radar
facility in 1962 and worked
in the same capacity until
retirement.
He is a Pittsburgh native
cern, and Christmas cards
for the elderly. She has
also served on numerous
committees such as Fall
Fling, Luzerne County Fall
Fair, Library Auction and
many more. Joanie was
named Back Mountain
Jay-C-ette of the year 1981-
82 and served as club
Director and Secretary.
Married to Chris Marshall,
Joanie and Chris have
three sons, Ryan, 4 and
twins Adam and David,
20months old.
but considers Dallas his
home. He resides at the
White Birch Trailer Court
in Dallas. He has made
many friends in the area
and intends to continue his
residence in Dallas.
