As members of the Handbell Ringers (AGEHR), they have attended regional and national festivals in Urinus and Bloomsburg, and in Kentucky, Georgia, Mas- Ohio. and Toronto. AGEHR Area II festivals and were selected in 1980 as a demonstration choir for the seminars in advanced ringing tech- niques held during work- shops at Bowling Green Stat® University. Last year they were critically acclaimed soloists at the Wilkes-Barre Handbell Festival. : Through their concerts, the Youth Ringers have contributed to many chari- table organizations, includ- ing the Salvation Army, World Hunger Wycliffe Bible Translators, UNICEF, and recently to the Valley Food Pantry, a local orga- nization that helps the growing population of needy stemming from unemployment. Students Tour On April 12 the second grade students from Lake- Noxen toured the Forty Fort Theater. After looking around the theater and being shown how the movies are projected, they saw two Walt Disney films, ‘‘The ‘Sword and the Stone’ and “Winnie the Pooh.” They were also treated to pop- corn and soda. The buses and admission to the movies were pro- vided by the Lake-Noxen P.T.A. .
