Council met in a special session last week with Margaret Purcell presiding due to e absence of president Frank Coulton. Also discussed were amendments to the 1983 budget which included elimination of a number of expenses. Proposed budget cuts involve the purchase of a new cruiser, $10,000; administration expenses, $300; engineer’s salary, $300; engineer's expenses, $1,000; codification of borough records, $2,300; construction and} rebuilding for road department, $11,000 construction supplies and equipment, $4,000 and $1,500 for supplies for garbage sticker program. Dallas Township supervisors plan to invite Meadows Senior Citizen cemplex planners to a meeting, March 15 at 7 p.m. Purpose of the meeting is to correct a misun- derstanding on the use of the fire safety pond constricted] at the Meadows. Ecumenical Enterprises Inc.; which is constructing the complex has reportedly offered the Township a 25-year lease on the pond for use in fire emergency. Township fathers are looking for a more lasting agreement with EEI, as they believe their financial investment in the project to be too great to span only 25 years. Sol Lubin and Ray Condo of EEI, and Thomas Doughton of Smith Miller Associates will be invited. A hearing has been set for Feb. 24, at 6 p.m. before District Justice Leonard Harvey on charges of harassment leveled against Jackson Township patrol- man Bert Balliet. Salsman was brought to Gregory's from the Wyoming County prison where he is incarcerated in lieu of $40,000 bail on other charges.
