4 4 “ f © Holy Trinity Crusader Basketball program got off to a good start as most of the boys and girls at the “school participated in the program, boys. in the basketball program and the girls as cheerleaders. The Booster Club, headed by the following officers Joe Li gnski, president; Don Eleane Lipinski, treasurer; Mary Wilce, secretary and Carol Matinas, publicity; have done a bang up job in putting the program over with the fine help of Rev. Joseph Ziobro, moderator, and assistant pastor, Msgr. Michael C. Wilce Sr. Swanek. Rick Nemetz. The Crusaders have three teams, Biddy team, coached by Tom Gulla and Dan Swanek; junior varsity, coached by Don Wilce and varsity coached by Rich Nemetz, Jr. The cheerleading squads consist of the junior varsity coached by varsity squad by Barbara Koval. The teams belong to the West Side Catholic Boys League and they play their home games at the Holy Trinity gym. This evening, they will host St. Peter and Paul of Hudson. The One for the Road Gang came through with a 3-0 win over the last place One Arm Bandits. Penn State just about clinched the first half as they took a 3-0 win over the Dodgers. Standings: Penn State 25-5, Yankees 15-15, Cards 11-19, Dodgers 9-21. -0- DICKO’S DART LEAGUE--The Sailors gained grown on the Steelers as they took a 4-0 win over the Lions. MICHAEL MESAROS, 59 Barber St., Swoyersville, will celebrate their 45th wedding -anniversary Saturday. They were married Jan. 15, 1938, by the late Rev. Joseph Buda at St. Mary’s Church, Swoyersville. Mrs. Mesaros is the former Catherine Buzitsky of Swoyersville. Their at- tendants were Helen Buzitsky Wozniak and the late Stephen Brek. The Mesaros’ are the parents of a daughter, Mrs. Geraldine Wall, Shavertown. They ‘also have four grandchildren. Many of the local political friends of Sen. Ray Musto made the trip to Harrisburg to see the popular senator be in- stalled in office this past Tuesday. While there, they toured the Capitol and treated to a cocktail Holiday Inn Towne House, Harrisburg. They made the trip by bus as about seven of them left from Musto’s office in Pittston Township. While in Harrisburg for the Swearing-in Cer- monies, they met many of the Senators and Repre- sentatives and were in- vited and attended many of the parties that followed after the cer- monies. Joseph Buda at St. Mary's Church, Swoyersville. Mrs. Tkaczyk is the former Laura. Piekara. Mr. Tkaczyk is formerly of Plymouth. They are parents of three children, Bernard, Forty Fort; David, Wyoming and Mrs. Theresa Nixon, Swoyers- Pro-Life Mass this Saturday, Jan. 15, 7 p.m. at St. Hedwig’s ‘Church, Kingston. This is the Mass that all are invited to attend to show support for Pro-Life. The Mass will be a time that will be most memorable with all the dignitaries participating. She was one of the pioneers of Swoyersville and in the late 60’s was named pro football mother of the year. Her two sons, Walt, now coach of the New York Jets and Lou, for- mer all pro and top kicker in the NFL, played in the OPEN 1Ta.m. to 11 p.m. 7 Days a Week ville. They also have two grandchildren. Francis Federowicz at St. Mary’s Church, Swoyersville. Mrs. Gavlick is the former Theresa Treckiewicz, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. knocked off the Eagles by a 3-1 score. Gavlick is retired from the Air Traffic Control, Wilkes-Barre-Scranton Airport. is also survived by three other sons, Joseph, a teacher in New Jersey; Thomas of Exeter and John (Jake) of Wilkes- Barre. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Stanley and daughter, Frances.
