The publishing house, sub- sidiary of Fred Waring Enterprises, has previously published several compositions by Pelton. The newest band arrangement entiled “Glory of the Empire” is an arrangement aimed for the junior high level of performing group and is based on melodies from different countries of the former British Empire. Last year Shawnee Press published and sold an arrangement titled “Three Czeck Folk Songs’’ by the composer. Pelton, who presently teaches in the Dallas Schools and at Luzerne County Community College, has been music supervisor in the Forty Fort Schools and a lec- turer at College Misericordia. The concert was held in MSC’s Steadman Theatre, Sunday, Dec. 5. Ms. Steinkirchner, music performance major, sang a soprano solo in ‘“The Shepherds Had An Angel” by the English composer, Maurice Besley.
