The Oneonta Hotel was opened in April, 1898 onthe site of the Lake Grove House, which was torn down the ® previous year. A four story wood and brick structure, the Oneonta burned down on Feb. 2, 1919. At the time 3 : of the fire it was owned by James Polland Sr., who had died a few weeks earlier.
