PAGE FOURTEEN Kathleen Smith Mrs. Kathleen P. Smith, 67, RD 2, Harveys Lake, died Sunday, May 17, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the former Kathleen Carlucci. She resided in Greene, N. Y., 30 years and at Harveys Lake for the past 20 years. Prior to retiring she was employed by General Cigar Company, Kingston, and Con- solidated Cigar Company, Pittston. She attended Emmanuel Assembly of God Church, Harveys " Lake. She is survived by her husband, Smith, Sr.; sons, Manley J. and Harry, Harveys Lake; daughters,, Mrs. Kathleen Bixby, Noxen; Mrs. Ella Wilcox and Nella Smith, Har- pursville, M.Y; brother, John Grady, Noxen; 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren. - Funeral was May 19 from the = ‘Swanson Funeral Home, Routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Rev. Robert D. Whitehaid, Emmanuel Assembly of God Church, officiating. Interment was in Kocher Cemetery, Harveys Lake. Miriam Sims General Hospitel from injuries she sustained in a two-car accident Friday afternoon on Route 309, Kingston Township. The former Miriam Clevans, daughter of the late Morris and Bessie Clevans of Altoona, she resided in Lancaster and graduated from Lan- caster High School. She moved to Wilkes-Barre in 1941 following - her marriage: She was a officer in the corporation .of Kiddie Shoppes, Inc. and the Clothes Horse, located in Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, Kingston and Lancaster. Mrs. Sims was a member of Temple Israel and its Sisterhood, Wilkes-Barre Branch of Hadassah, Council of Jewish Women and was active in affairs. of the Wilkes-Barre. Funeral arrangements were by Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, 348 South River St., Wilkes-Barre. Anthony R. Wisnewski Anthony R. Wisnewski, RD 1, Lower Demunds Road, Dallas, was killed instantly May 15 in a two- car collision on Route 309, Kingston Township. Luzerne: County Coroner Dr. George Hudock at- tributed death to a broken neck and internal in- juries. Wisnewski was born in Edwardsville, son of Mrs. Helen Bucholtz Anthony Wisnewski. He resided in Edwardsville for many years and was a 1959 graduate of Central Catholic High School. Later he moved with his family to the Back Mountain area. He is survived by his wife, the former Marie Cefalo; son, Mark, US Navy; sisters, Mrs. George (Antoinette) Purcell, Flemmington, N.J.; Mrs. Charles (Tina) Shiber, Centermoreland; and brother, James, Funeral was Monday, May 18, from the Kopicki Funeral Home, 263 Zerbey Ave., Kingston, with Mass of Christian Burial in Gate of Heaven Church,Dallas. Mrs. Barbara Keiper will be Noxen Township’s new tax collector, starting in January. She captured the Republican and ‘Democratic nominations in the May 19 primary election and will be unopposed in the November general election. Mrs. Keiper received 123 votes from Noxen Republicarns_ and Students of Sue Hand will hold their annual Spring Art Show from June 1 through 10 at Sue Hand’s Imagery, 35 Main St., Dallas. A variety of art media will be exhibited, in- cluding watercolor, oil, alkyd, acrylic, conte, . pastel, casein, pencil, ink, charcoal and scrat- chboard. Many of the works are for sale. The students range in garnered 61 votes from Noxen Township nominations. In January, she will succeed her mother-in-law, Mrs. seek reelection.
