Nice to have friends in State College, especially when there is a big game like the football contest played on Friday between Pitt and Penn State. A musical program will be presented by Mark and Susie Dreistadt, who do ministry for the “Master’s Evangelistic Association’’, Wilkes- Barre. Members and St. Therese’s marked service A near capacity at- tendance marked the Ecumenical Thanksgi- ving Eve service last Wednesday evening in St. Therese’s Roman Catholic = Church in Shavertown. The service was sponsored by the Back Mountain Clergy Association. The offering taken up during the service will be used in part to aid victims of the earthquake in Southern Italy and the reaminder for mission work: in the ' Back Mountain. Call to worship was by Rev. Father Joseph Sammons, pastor of St. Therese’s Church, followed by invocation. Rev. Eugene Akers, pastor of Dallas United Methodist Church, gave the reading from the Old Testament (Psalm 65) and from the New Testament (St. Luke 17:11-19). Rev. Lynn Rothrock, pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Shavertown, led the Litany of Thanksgiving. Senior Choir and the Bell Choir of Dallas United Methodist Church sang with Mrs. Ross Santos of Lehman as guest soloist. Ushering was by members of St. Therese’s Youth Ministry, who also assisted with serving of refreshments after the service in the church social rooms. Members of the Con- fraternity of Christian Doctrine prepared the cookies and other tasks for the refreshment session. guests are invited to come and experience the in- spirational message of the Gospel through musical selections, ranging from beautiful old hymns to the contemporary sounds of Christian music. Mrs. Jean Chadwick is program chairwoman. Devotions will be given by Mrs. Donna Kachmar, and the election of 1981 officers will be held.
