The Kanes are the parents of three children, Maria and Dallas and Christine at home. Mr. Kane is a graduate of Bioomsburg State College and is employed by the Pa. Department of Highways. He and his wife are avid Penn State football fans ond = manage to see a few games every year. Bill Galletti is employed at the Leslie Fay Inc. in Wilkes-Barre. He is one of the top slo pitch softball players around, playing several years for Stack’s Lounge and for the past few years has been starring for the Leslie Fay team. He and Irene recently returned from Texas where Bill played for the Leslie Fay team in a tournament where they ended up fifth in a class of 28 teams. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Rynkewicz Mr. and Mrs. Stanley ‘Red’ Rynkewicz of 263 Union St., Luzerne recently celebfated their 41st wedding an- niverssary. Swoyersville’s lone score came on a pass from quar- terback John Lagoski to end Brian Bobeck. The two extra points were made as Lagoski passed to Matt Michaels. The Junior Sailors will try. to get on the winning line this coming Sunday, Sept. 14, as they take on the Hanover Haweyes at Hanover beginning at 2:30 p.m. Swoyersville Sailors B team lost a tough game to the Heights Packers by the score of 6-0. The team coached by Mike Romanowski, Carl Peterlin, Sterling Rush and Don Covert has nothing to be ashamed of. The defense ppayed a whale of a game but the offense just couldn't get anything started. They hope to get back on their winning ways this coming Sunday against Hanover. Swoyersville Sailors C team made sure that it wouldn't be three losses to the Heights Packers as they wallopped their C team by the score of 30 to 0. Coaches Ted Gabel, Paul Pasek and John. Miller, had their youngsters working to perfection. They outplayed the Heights team to the hilt and shut them out with a sturdy defense. The C team was led by quarterback Bob LaNunnziatta who passed for a TD and ran for another. Eddie Manarski, the little scatback ran and caught a pass for two TD’s, and chipper Damian Cavuto scotted for the other TD. Cavuto, Mark Romanowski and Jeff Miller made two point conversions on runs. Red, as he is known by everyone can well be remem- bered of his athletic feats in three sports at Swoyersville High in the early forties. He was a top passer, runner and one of the top punters that came out of Soyersville High. a top outfielder in baseball playing under Coaches Lou Palermo and Eddie Chiampi. Red played semi-pro football in Virginia and was one of the top outfielders for the Swoyersville A C's in the late forties and early fifties.
