Thieves take roofing Thieves looted 13 squares of white roofing valued at $520 from the Shavertown Lumber Company, 16 E. Center St., Shavertown. Police Chief Paul Sabol is in- vestigating the theft which was discovered June 25. 2-car accident Josephine Moretti, Harveys Lake, driving a 1980 Cadillac coupe, figured in a two car-one operator ac- cident on June 27 at 1 a.m. Moretti was proceeding on Route 309 when her car went off the road and struck the front end of a car parked at the Howard “Duke” Isaacs lot. Patrolmen Gary Beisel, Jack Appel, and Sgt. Pugh investigated. Accident at highway intersection A two car accident occurred in Kingston Township on June 27 at 11 a.m. Phillip Humphrey, Box 35A, Pittston, was coming out of Church Road in Trucksville planning to cross 309 to enter onto Carverton Road, he told police. However, he struck a 79 Chevrolet operated by Harry Dombeck, POB 8, Dallas, who was heading north on 309. There is a stop light at the intersection, but no citations have been issued in the mishap investigated by Patrolman J. Appel. Car sideswiped - Two cars traveling in opposite directions on the same road were involved in a minor accident June 25 at 8:15 p.m. Mildred J. Jones, 171 Woodbine Road, Shavertown, was proceeding west on East Center Street when her vehicle sideswiped one operated by Michael Freidman; 351 Joseph Drive, Green Acres, Kingston. Freidman was gated the minor mishap. Cars collide Dallas Borough police chief Ed Lyons reports there were no ‘reportable’ incidents other than accidents. On June 30 at 5:23 p.m. two cars were involved in an accident at the four-way stop at E. Center Hill Road and Lake Street near Payne Printery. Robin Chesler, E. 10th St., Brooklyn, N.Y. was proceeding east on Center Hill Road while Marie B. Zonerfield, Mill Street, Wilkes-Barre, was going north on Lake Street. They both proceeded from their respective spots, colliding in the middle of the intersection. Patrolman John Fowler investigated. : Fender bender in Dallas A “fender bender’ occurred in the parking lot of the Towne House in Dallas Borough on June 21 at 1 p.m. Elaine Mock, 29, RD 1, Dallas, was entering the parking lot and Joseph Matukonis, 72, of Vaughn Street, Luzerne, was exiting when the cars bumped. There was no damage or injuries. Patrolman Ted Montross in- vestigated.
