Lake-Lehman High School, plans to attend Wilkes College and major in music following her graduation in June. The daughter of Mrs. Virginia Major of Hunts- ville, Judy has a sister, Gina, a student at Drexel and a brother, student in sixth grade. A member of the high school chorus Judy recently went to State Chorus. This year she sang in District Chorus and was selected for Regionals. Judy also has a lead in the school’s musical “No, No, Nanette’’, to be held in late March. This week’s In the Spot- light student at Lake- Lehman High School has played hockey for five years starting in junior high. This year she was co-captain of the team Judy also is a pitcher for the high school varsity softball team and for the past several weeks she has been practicing. Her goal is to go to states. This makes her fourth season on the team. She also played on the girls softball team in the Back Mountain Baseball league as long as she was eligible. During her sophomore and junior years Judy held the position of class treasurer. She also is an honor roll student and was the high school’s representative for the Hugh O’Brien Scholarship Award. Judy played the flute and the oboe in the Lake- Lehman Award-Winning Band for six years but had to resign from the band because of her busy schedule. A member of the school’s Ski Club, « she enjoys downhill skiing and plans to go with the other members to Hunter Mountain the latter part of this month. In her leisure time she enjoys playing the piano and singing. During the summer she goes swimming, jogging and bike riding. Last summer she played on a softball team and plans to do so again this summer. The team is.comprised of high school and college students and is coached by Mrs. Florence Finn, the high school team’s coach. Judy enjoys traveling and in the past has been to Virginia, Georgia, Kentucky, Florida, New York, New Jersey and Canada. Many of these trips were made when she was with the band. She also works part- time as a cashier-checker at the Dallas Acme Market. “I know many of the students have commented on how great our teachers were,” said Judy, ‘but they really are. They make our something special for the students. “The teacher-student relationship is great and been very helpful to me in making decisions about college and personal problems. They have been more than teachers-- friends and advisors,” said Judy. Judy would like to see school furnished for the students. She believes it would make a great student lounge and also make it much more at- tractive. It is vain to expect any advantage from our profession of the truth if we be not sincerely just and honest in our actions. --Sharpe. A junior at Dallas High School, Tom Sincavage of Dallas is this week’s In the Spotlight student. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sincavage, Tom transferred to Dallas in family moved to the Back Mountain from Media. He has a brother, John, sophomore at Villanova; brother, Joe, student at Hahnemann Medical and a sister, Diane, sophomore at Dallas. A talented art student, Tom plans to attend college and major in architecture. He is the art editor of the school news- paper and also will do posters for this year’s school musical. - Tom is a member of the junior class steering committee. ~ Tort 4 Plus Tax 4 Plus Tax at - Member F.D.I.C. A member of he school’s Ski Club, he enjoys downhill skiing and goes with the club on their various ski trips. In his sophomore year, Tom was a member of the photography club but did not join this year because of his schedule. he is a candidate for the National Honor Society and this year he also was named to ‘‘Who’s Who Among American High School Students.” Tom was among the students who painted the windows of the banks for Christmas and also did some murals at West- moreland Elementary School. He presently is doing murals on the walls of the school cafeteria. In his leisure time, he “enjoys downhill skiing and in warmer weather plays golf. He also says the school spirit is terrific in Dallas.
