Fritzges Market defeated the Pizza Bar 87- 65, last Saturday in the Misericordia ~~ Recreati- onal Basketball League, then took Don’s Citgo, 94- 79, in the playoffs on Sunday afternoon to advance to the cham- pionship contest against T.I. Tavern this weekend. Steve Meskers paced Fritzges Market in the scoring on Saturday with 19 points followed by P.J. Delaney with 17. Also hitting in the double digit column were Jack Wolensky with 14, Bill Lozo and Brad Arnaud with 12 points each and Dave Fritzges with 11. Tom Gauntlett led the Pizza Barwith 18 points. Chris Sharpe connected for seven goals from the court and tossed in three from the foul line for 17 points. Chuck Wilson hit for 14 points and Steve Skammer collected 10 points. In the second game on Saturday afternoon, T.I.’s Tavern took Don’s Citgo 77-58 with G. Mack high scorer for both teams with 24 points. First, second, and third place winners were Paul Pasek, Michael Walski, and Michael Sabadish, respectively, all of whom received trophies.
