On Booster Day, a door- to-door canvas of all areas of the school district will begin at 1 p.m. and continue throughout the day. November meeting of Dallas Area Band Parents Association will be held Tuesday evening, Mrs. Emily Loke, president, has announced. It is requested that all returns for the benefit fundraiser now underway be made. Winner of the fundraiser will be announced at the Nov. 10 football game between Dallas and GAR. The Dallas-GAR game has been designated as Band Day game at Dallas High stadium. Dallas Area residents have great pride in their band and the Band Parents will recognize the many hours of hard work turned in by the various groups af- filiated with the band in the contributions of fine music and sharp routines on the field. At its October meeting, members of the Dallas Band, Strutters, Flags and Majorettes en- tertained their parents and friends. Directed by capable Lester Lewis, the enthusiastic =~ musicians played several current songs with accompanying intricate routines by the Strutters and Flags. Excelling in solo per- formances were Leigh Ann Schoner, drum major, and Sharon Baines, head majorette. Refreshments at the meeting Tuesday evening will be served. Orders for the Christmas porcelain figurines also are to be turned in at Tuesday’s meeting so that delivery of the items can be assured for the holidays. Proceeds from the fundraising activities benefit the students in- volved in the band. Seniors receive Dallas Area High School jackets at the Spring banquet, which is given in recognition of all the band members in the three senior grades. Mrs. Loke has expressed thanks and appreciation to the area folk, who donated dozens for the refreshment stand during home football games. Cub Scout Pack 155, Trucksville, held its pack meeting on Friday, Oct. 19. Halloween was the theme of the meeting. Den 2, under the leadership of Bernie White, had the opening skit. They had some funny riddles for the scouts and their parents. A parade of scouts in Halloween costumes followed.
