‘Low bridge’ at bank The *‘low bridge” at the drive-in window of a Dallas bank proved the undoing of a Harveys Lake truck driver last Thursday. According to Dallas Borough Police, Robert Ramage, Jr., 27, of RD 1, Box 108, Harveys Lake, tried to drive a rented truck through the drive-in section of the United Penn Bank on Main St., Dallas, but damaged both the truck and the bank structure when the clearance turned out to be too low. Chief Edward Lyons investigated. Pregnant cow shot » A cow about to give birth was shot to death by persons unknown on a Wyoming area farm last Wednesday, Kingston Township Police report. Dairy farmer Ralph Sands, RD 3, Wyoming, told police the cow, valued at $2,500, was being kept in the pasture to bear its calf. It was shot twice in the neck and once in the Dog stuck in tar pit A dog belonging to a Shavertown woman had to be put to sleep by the SPCA after being pulled out of a tar pit on the grounds of the American Asphalt Co. in Shavertown, Jackson Township Police report. Police said that night watchman John Petros discovered the animal early Sunday evening mired in a tar reservoir 14 inches deep and about 30 feet wide. Chief Donald Jones and Ptlm. Bert Balliet, assisted by members of the Jackson Township Fire Department, removed the dog in 90 minutes of work and contacted the SPCA, which took it to a veterinarian where it was destroyed. The Home-Health Services of ‘Luzerne County made 845 more visits to the homes of Back Mountain patients in fiscal year 1978-79 than it did in 1977- 78. The non-profit agency’s visiting nurses and aides made 3,696 home care visits to Back Mountain patients from July 1, 1978 to June 30, 1979. Visits over the prior year totalled 2,851. Kingston Township received the most Home- Health visits, with 1,172. There were 827 health care visits to Dallas Borough homes, and 392 in. Dallas Township.
