Dolbear. He will be introduced by Dr. Richard Shipe, superin- tendent of schools. Class president, Michael Kalinosky, will be and Benediction will be delivered by Rev. Charles Bigner of the Dallas Baptist Church. Presentation of the class and diploma list will be presented by Edgar W. Hughes, Jr., principal. Diplomas will be awarded on behalf of the Board of Education by Richard D. Hislop, President of the Board of Education, and Ernest Ashbridge, board member. Musical selections will be rendered by the mixed chorus under the direction of Mrs. Florence H. Sherwood. Susan E. Petty, a senior 8 at Dallas High School was 51 the school’s winner of a $25 ~ Savings Bond awarded to a | deserving business student “by the Dallas voting members of the Luzerne County Association of | Educational Secretaries. | Students applied for consideration for the ; award which also made ‘them eligible for a $200 'scholarship grant by the ‘county association. | This is the third year for ‘the award which is offered ‘to students at Dallas, | Wyoming Area, Pittston ‘Area, West Side Technical, ‘Wyoming Valley West, | Lake-Lehman, Crestwood, Seton Catholic, Luzerne County Community College, College Miseri- cordia, and Wilkes College. Also represented in the association are the secretaries of the Inter- mediate Unit 18. The association met May 31 at the Imperial Manor, Pittston to select the one student from all of the 11 schools and colleges represented who would receive the $200 scholar- ship. This year’s winner is Susan E. Petty, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Petty of Davis Street in Trucksville. Susan plans to attend Bloomsburg State College and major in business. (Photo by Charlot M. Denmon) Students attend camp Two sophmore boys from Dallas Senior High School have been chosen to attend the ‘‘Leaders Rotary Camp’. These boys are Andy Krivak and Bob Rose. The camp’s objective is to offer outstanding high school boys; an experience in democratic living; ideals of conduct and serivee; additional career guidance; Armed Service workshops; college in- doctrinination and a challenge to accept the responsibilities of leadership. Andy Krivak is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Krivak of Poplar Street, Dallas. Me is a member of the volleyball team, active in organizing activities for his fellow students, and is an honor student. Andy enjoys sailing, soccer, and music. : Bob Rose is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rose of Shrine Acres, Dallas. He is active in many out-of- school programs just recently organizing trips to Washington, D.C. and Hershey Park. Bob was awarded the NEDT Academic Merit Cer- tificate and enjoys all outdoor actiivities.
