A newcomer on the political scene, Magalski will run as an independent Republican. Magalski, a Navy veteran of World War 11, is married to the former Maureen Stepanik. Both are Larksville natives and graduates of the Larksville Borough schools. An Oak Hill resident the past 17 years, . Magalski was employed by the - Pennsylvania Bureau of Corrections over 19 years, being among the first 15 officers hired when the Dallas State Correctional Institute opened. The position he last held with the Bureau, namely Chief of Security Operations, took him into the state’s eight prisons and 15 halfway houses. He attended the Pennsylvania State Police Academy at Her- shey, receiving extensive training in lethal and non-lethal: weapons, in- struction in search and contraband and riot control. During his career with the Bureau, Magalski served as a security con- § | sultant for Pennsylvania‘s House of Representatives and was also state chairman of the Correctional Officer's Benevolent Association (C.0.B.A.) and the Commissioned Officer’s Association of Pennsylvania. A member of St. John the Baptist RC Church, Larksville, Magalski also served as commander of the American Legion Post 655 in Larksville.. Wife, Maureen is a member of Westmoor Church of Christ.
