HN Ww ORK HILL ‘Size 5’ by Bridgette Correale After seeing this weather, I guess the Espens, Emil and Millie, feel they returned home after spending the winter in Florida, a little too soon. Who would have expected all this snow! ; : Sorry to learn that Karen Batka is a medical patient at Nesbitt Memorial Hospital. Her neighbors, friends, classmates at Lake-Lehman High and crew at Mark II, all wish her a speedy recovery. 4 birthday was April 4 and to Betsy Moosic, her 12th bir- thday April 4. The Annettas, Mike, Marie, Rosemary, Mike, Jr. and Lenny, enjoyed a weekend in New Jersey where they visited friends and relatives. Their dog, Fred, was a house guest at the Correales (you’ve heard me talk about them before). All house guests should be so easy to entertain-no special menus, no extra bed to make, no wondering if he will be comfortable. Like to send this article to all friends and relatives living out of state, maybe they’ll get the message, “You stay home-send your dog!” Birthday ‘hellos’ to April Petrosky who will celebrate her 11th birthday April 15; Mike Rempliewicz and Ber- nadette Oley, April 13. The Clearys traveled to Waverly, N.Y. to share their Palm Sunday dinner with relatives. : The circus is in town and everyone is busy securing tickets especially Cub Scout Pack 232. The boys and their leaders will attend Monday, April 16. Cub Scouts are asked to be at Gate of Heaven school yard by 5:45 p.m. Last week Back Mountain’s own Karen Passarella Bobeck, Mrs. Pennsylvania, represented our State in the for making us so proud as she paraded on the stage of the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel. Her beauty and poise placed Karen in the top 10 run- ners-up with the final decision going to Mrs. New Jersey. Enjoying the weekend at the Osbornes were the Johnsons, former neighbors, now residing in the suburbs of Pittsburgh. The Johnsons along with many other neigh- bors, attended the wedding of Miss Bellas, daughter of Al and Marie Bellas, to Mr. Williams. Yesterday, which was Saturday, cause today is Sunday, (got it? 0.K.) I reluctantly went Easter shopping with and for No. one daughter, Adele. Anyone who has a daughter ‘mean when I say, “reluctantly.” The specialty shoppes that helped me keep my sanity for 10-11 years no longer can satisfy Adele’s sophisticated taste. Size 14, which is supposed to be her size according to Dr. Spock, looks kiddish on her. So what’s a mother to do??? (Vin suggested sewing, but took it back when he saw his sock supply. Holes--in the garbage!) After two hours of a long puss and wanting to bang my head against any wall in the Mall, I thought of trying the slender, very little poundage, know that the Mall may be convenient, but it’s for skinny people!) So getting back to junior sizes, I found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, Adele can wear a size 5 and did 1 enjoy myself after that. Just imagine a saleswoman coming over and asking, ‘‘What size are you looking for?’ ‘Size 5°’. Thrilling! When I mentioned my excitement to Vin he said, “Our Adele size 5 wow! I never remember you size 5.” What every woman wants to hear! But I fixed him good. Sunday is usually a 10 course meal at our house, well today I prepared a hearty breakfast for the children while Vin caught up on much needed sleep, so his breakfast was no- show. For lunch I tossed a salad for everyone and tonight I tancelled dinner! There’s a lot more than words Vin wants to eat! : Happy Easter and may you all break bread with people you love. Traveling? Drive carefully and return safe. Is it necessary to remind you to leave your snow tires on? At least until July 4???
