To all. .. our thanks Christmas in truth by The Rev. Wayne Lambert Sweet Valley Church of Christ While the world views Christmas from the viewpoint of materialism, and commercialism, the Christian celebrates Christmas in truth, this being the birth of Jesus, the Son of God. Coming from God and heaven, everything about Jesus pertains to the spiritual side. In looking at Christmas, three facts come to light. They are: GOD THE GIVER, CHRIST THE GIFT, and MAN THE GAIN. Because of sin man was in the state of damnation, hopeless, and without help. But praise be to God, who seeing our helpless condition, without strength, in due time sent His Son to pay the price for our sin, and welcome us back to the eternal hope of heaven (Romans 5:6). This is God’s offer, and man must make the decision either of two ways. He can stay as he is and experience the eternal Hell as promised, or choose Jesus, and experience eternal Heaven. Satan, the god of this world, controller of our flesh prevents man from accepting this offer, by our pride, excuses, and other means. In John 3:16 we read how God so loved the world He gave His only Son. While we are prone to think of God the giver, let us this Christmas consider Jesus the gift. His live for all mankind is still available to any person who will turn on his or her God given gift of choice, and allow Jesus to become Lord. One cannot tell how Christ makes a difference until they give Him a chance to take the reigns of their life. In every man, woman, boy and girl is packed still reigns, this potential cannot be displayed. Only by allowing God’s gift as one’s Saviour can a person really know hos or her life. The Bible teaches about spiritual birth just as we are a man born again, he cannot enter the kingdom of Heaven.” (John 3:3-5) The spiritual birth is a birth of the water and of the Spirit. This was proven on the day of Pentcost (Acts 2:38) when 3000 souls responded being born of above. Along this line of gain, there’s much said and done about speech, but far greater today is the murder of ones soul in refusing to accept Jesus. There’s no better way to make one’s life. .
