go | » J | Jewelry stolen A Monday burglary in Dallas Borough resulted in the loss of a quantity of jewelry, Dallas Borough Police report. Police said on Tuesday that the burglary took place sometime Monday between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at a borough home. Taken was an unknown amount of jewelry. An exact description of the jewelry was not available. Investigating is Chief Edward Lyons. Charges filed Charges have been filed against a juvenile who reportedly removed a light bulb from outside a “haunted house” in Dallas Borough. According to Chief Edward Lyons, the juvenile was apprehended taking the bulb. Ptlm John Fowler has filed the charges. W-B man cited A Wilkes-Barre resident has been cited for leaving the scene of an accident. Cited was Allan L. Major, 28, of 268 North Pennsylvania Ave., Wilkes-Barre. According to police, Major was traveling north along Route 415 in a 1973 Buick when he lost control on a curve and crossed over into the opposite lane. There he reportedly struck a Volkswagen driven by Margaret L. Edwards, 41, of Box 38, Harveys Lake, ap- proaching from the opposite direction. Investigating is Ptlm. James Tupper. Auto struck A motorist who bent over to turn on his heater ran into the back of a vehicle ahead of him last Tuesday evening, according to Dallas Borough Police. Police say that George R. Burk, 51, of 44 Willow St, Plymouth, driver of a 1975 Ford, was following another vehicle when he bent over to return on his heater and ran into the car ahead of him as it slowed to make a right turn into a driveway. : Driver of the car struck, a 1975 Chrysler, was Alfred Davis, RD 1, Box 169, Birdsboro. Head-on collision A head-on collision on Carverton Road last Tuesday afternoon resulted in considerable damage to two cars and a section of guard rail, Kingston Township Police report. Police say that Michael Bauer, 20 of 67 Radcliffe Road, Farmingdale, N.Y., and also of RD 2, Box 185A, Dallas, was driving a 1968 Pontiac west along Carverton Road when, according to Bauer, the car suddenly pulled left and crossed over into the eastbound lane. : There it struck head-on a 1973 Buick driven by Fred Morse, 76, RD 1, Box 9, Pittston. Morse told police he applied his brakes when he saw the Bauer vehicle coming. Bauer continued on after the collision and struck a guard rail along the east-bound lane, damaging it. Set for arraignment is Joseph Ramirez, State Correctional Institute, Dallas (Chase), on charges that he was found in possession of an eight-inch piece of steel rod with one end sharpened. The alleged incident occurred on Sept. 7. Prosecuting is Trooper William Koscenski, State Police, Wyoming Barracks. Mailbox damaged A Midway Manor resident’s mailbox was knocked down by a car that fled the scene immediately, Kingston Township Police have learned. H.R. Gardner, Jr., 48 Manor Drive, Midway Manor, told police that on Monday a car struck his mailbox, knocking it over and then leaving the scene. He said the car’s trim was damaged and its window broken in the incident. For just 10 cents per craft children three years and FRYING that a parent remain with a child under three can enjoy making halloween masks, Shavertown man injured A Shavertown young man was hospitalized Saturday morning following a violent two-car collision on Route 309, Kingston Township Police report. Taken first to Nesbitt Hospital, Kingston, and then to Wilkes-Barre General was William J. Pearce, 17, of RD 5, Sutton Road, Shavertown. His 1977 Jeep was towed from the scene. According to police, Joseph R. Stager, 30, of RD 5, Box 384A, Shavertown, was driving north along 309 in a 1978 Dodge truck when he was struck in the rear by Pearce. The Stager vehicle then left the road, coming to rest on the berm. The Pearce auto continued northward after the collision, flipping over and coming to rest on the pavement. Investigating is Sgt.
