Roberts Fire Company Building, Harveys Lake Borough, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, the Council of the Borough of Harveys Lake will consider for passage the following Ordinance entitled: ORDINANDE OF THE BOROUGH OF HARVEYS LAKE, LUZERNE COUNTY PENNSYLVANIA, ESTABLISHING A POLICE PEN- SION PLAN PURSUANT TO THE ACT OF MAY 29, 1956, P.L. 1804 AS AMENDED AND ELEC- TING TO JOIN THE PEN- NSYLVANIA MUNICIPAL RETIREMENT SYSTEM UNDER ARTICLE IV OF THE PEN- NSYLVANIA MUNICIPAL RETIREMENT LAW In addition to.the items specified in the title, the aforesaid Ordinance generally provides as follows: SECTION 1: ESTABLISHMENT OF PLAN, providing that the Fund shall be under the direction of the Borough of Harveys Lake. SECTION 2: ELIGIBILITY FOR PAR- TICIPATION IN PROGRAM, providing that each full time Policeman shall be eligible to participate in the Police Pension Plan. SECTION 3: AGE AND SERVICE REQUIREMENTS, providng that each participant who has been a Harveys Lake Police Officer for Twenty-five (25) years in the aggregate, and has attained the age of fifty-five (55) years may retire and shall be en- titled to the benefits thereunder. SECTION 4: MILITARY LEAVE CREDIT, providing that a member of the Police Force may credit time spent in the Service under certain conditions, SECTION 5: CONTRIBUTION RATE, providing that members shall pay an amount equal to five (5) percent of their compensation to the Fund. SECTION 6: RETIREMENT OR PEN- SION BENEFITS, setting forth the amount of the monthly pension bnefits to which the aforesaid Police Officer may be entitled. SECTION 7: DISABILITY BENEFITS, the State Treasurer shall be applied. SECTION 10: REDUCTION OR ELIMINATION OF MEMBER CON- TRIBUTIONS, providing for the reduction or elimination of member contributions where such reduction or elimination will not adversely af- fect the acturial soundness of the Fund. SECTION 11: GIFTS, authorizes the Borough of Harveys Lake to take by gift, property for the the benefit of the Fund. : SECTION 12: PENSION BENEFITS NOT SUBJECT TO LEGAL PROCESS GENERALLY, provides as stated in this subtitle. ? SECTION 13: EXPENSES OF AD- MINISTRATION, provides that the Borough of HARVEYS LAKE shall ap- propriate sufficient funds to ad- | minister this Pension Plan.
