Senior high work at the Joe Killeen guest speaker at Kiwanis The weekly meeting of Wilkes-Barre Kiwanis co-chairman of the fair. Kiwanis Club Saturday the Back Mt. Kiwanis Club was held Saturday, Aug. 19 at the Mark II Restaurant, ‘Dallas. President Bob Cartier presided. Visiting guests attending the meeting were Bob Lawhorn and Ray Hillman of the Dallas Kiwanis Club, also Warren Meyers of the Club. Special guest at the meeting was Joe Killeen who is the general chairman of the Fall Fair, which will be held at the Lehman Horseshow grounds Sept. 7 through Sept. 10. Bill Coburn of the Back Mt. Kiwanis Club is Jim Snyder, secretary of the Back Mt. Kiwanis Club, is attending the Kiwanis Club International Con- vention being held in Philadelphia at the Marriott Hotel Aug. 17 through Aug. 20. There will be a paper drive held by the Back Mt. Aug. 26 starting at 9 a.m. The new Intensive Care Ambulance has been or- dered for the Back Mountain area and should be delivered by November of this year. It will be put in service as soon as possible, announced President Cartier. senior high consisted of restoration of canopy in front of building, painting exterior, roof work, gym seating repairs, etc. As an energy conservation measure, the boys’ locker room ceiling is being converted from block ceiling to sheet rock ceiling with metal frame. Further assistance was provided at the senior high by CETA employees in preparing gym floors and other areas of the building for the opening of school, flushing out and covering electrical access area behind school, maintaining : ; of football field, minor : age ; # repairs on mowers, water Tele : : pressure problems. Westmoreland Elementary - major work was accomplished to bring this school up to standards set by Act 504 (Barrier Free Buildings For The Handicapped). District-wide - throughout the school year, weatherizing and painting in all areas of the school district are on-going, which result in ‘a cost savings of thousands of dollars to the district, and a highly improved general appearance of district buildings.
