The Sicklers observed their silver wedding anniversary on Sunday with open house. Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Metcalfe - Shaver Funeral Home. Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetary. The Harris family had resided at Mt. Zion before moving to Kingston, N.Y. last fall. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Major of Centermoreland and their guest, Miss Ena Wium, of Paris, France, who has been visiting here the past month, have returned after a trip to Canada. Miss Wium will leave on Saturday for the return trip home. It is her second visit to Cen- termoreland in the past two years and she has made a host of friends in the area. ; The 23rd annual chicken barbecue and auction of Centermoreland United Methodist Church was held Friday and Saturday on the church grounds and at- tracted large crowds both nights. A total of 1,120 dinners were served and this was a bit more than were served at last year’s affair. Richard Brunges and Ralph Sands, the latter of Tunv khannock, ussisted by other members of the church, kept the auction items moving at a good pace. Mrs. George (Ola Mae) Schoonover, who served as coordinator for this year’s benefit affair, has ex- pressed thanks and ap- preciation to all those, who assisted ‘in making the affair a success. Frank G. Williams, who was in charge of the auction, has expressed thanks and appreciation to the many donors, who donated items for the auction.
