The 79th ARCOM monitors the operations and training of nearly 1 100 Army Reserve units, comprising ap- eastern half of the state. In civilian life, Franklin is an area representative with Fowler .. Williams, a trucking firm in Scranton. He has 27 years of active and r reserve service with the Army and most recently served as Com- mand Sergeant Major of the 402nd MP unit in Wilkes-Barre--a major suordinate unit of the 79th. Discharged after treatment for injuries suffered when she was struck by a car while running across Manor Drive Sunday evening was Kris Butler, 16, of 172 Woodbine Rd., Shaver- town. According to Sgt. William Pugh, Butler was on the way down from the hilltop area when she ran across Manor Drive into the path of an oncoming car driven by Holly M. Mutahler, 21, of 112 13th Ave., Bethlehem. Butler was reportedly tossed up onto the hood and windshielf of the car when Mutahler was unable to stop in time and struck her. A young man and woman were treated at Nesbitt for injuries suffered when the automobile in which they were riding along Route 309 early Monday morning left the road, striking a wall and a guardrail. Injured were David W. Gramps, 19, of RD 3, Dallas, and Tammy Lutes, 17, 39 North Pioneer Ave., Shavertown. According to Patrolmen Gary Beisel and Walter Davis, the 1976 Oldsmobile driven by Gramps was proceeding south along Route 309 near South Main St. when Gramps lost control. The vehicle struck a bridge wall, bounced off and entered a washed-out * section of the berm, and continued southward, leaving the road and striking the guardrail. Injured were removed in the Kingston Township ambulance. The car was towed from the scene. A Dallas man’s car was towed from the scene late Friday evening following a rear-end collision on Route 309 near Hillside St. Damaged were the olmen Gary Beisel and James Wisniewski, 1968 Dodge of Stanley P. Frania, 18, of Perrins Pond, RD 3, Dallas, and the 1973 Chevrolet of Denise A. Stolarich, 20, of RD 6, Reese St., Dallas. According to Patrolmen Gary Beisel and James Wisniewski, Stolarich was proceeding - nrth along Route 309 in the passing lane shortly before mid- night Friday, when she slowed down, being struck from behind by the Frania vehicle. Camper found Kingston Township Police are investigating the theft and recovery of a camper vehicle and the theft of a pistol, items taken in separate in- cidents. Smith told Sgt. William Pugh and Ptlm. John Appel that he discovered the pistol missing Thursday, having last seen it late in April or early in May. Underage drinking Four young people were arrested by Kingston Thursday morning and charged with underage drinking following a chase through the township streets. The driver, a 17-year-old Shavertown male, was also charged with operating a motor vehicle after mid- night with a junior license. Charged also West 8th St., Wyoming, and Karen S. Laver, 18, of 99 Wardan Ave., Trucksville. A Trucksville male youth with no age indicated was similarly charged. A fifth passenger in the car was freed when it was ascertained by police that she had not been drinking. According to police, Sgt. William Pugh spotted two vehicles on Grove St., Trucksville, in the early morning hours and pur- sued them along Route 309 heading north, calling for the other patrol to assist. The two cars reportedly turned into East Center St. and then into North Main St., with Ptlm. Walter Davis capturing the first and Sgt. Pugh the second. All arrests were made among occupants of the first car.
