Glenn Major of Centermoreland was designated ‘Senior Citizen of the Year’ at the sixth annual Senior Citizens dinner held Saturday evening in Centermoreland United Methodist Church for ‘senior citizens’ of that church. Major is a retired employee of the Globe Store in Scranton. He was given a gift. More than two score senior citizens of the Centermoreland church were feted at the ddinner, which was sponsored by the MM's of the Church school. Mrs. Mildred Schroy was in charge of the dinner program; Mrs. Gerry Blizzard and Mrs. Joyce Bellas were dinner chairmen, and Mrs. Bea Beatty and Mrs. Janet Brown were in'charge of tables. A vocal selection was given by ‘Tim ‘ Rought, accompanied by Mrs. Glenn Major; Nancy and Donna Rought gave a dance number, and “Gong Show’ numbers were given by Mrs. Gloria Rought and Mrs. Sheryl the MM Class. After authorities questioned the youth it was learned the youth had placed his order of fresh cut flowers with J.B. Gallery Florist, 170 N. Memorial Highway, Shaver- town, 675-1717. The youth told authorities that after he had examined the plants, silk flower arrangements, hanging plants, Bouton butterflies and household accessories, he chose the FTD fresh cut flower arrangement. Gallery makes deliveries to the greater Wilkes-Barre area and that he was sending flowers to his girl friend’s mother.
