0 Dallas (Junior Women’s Club came home with 13 winners in the Luzerne County Federation of Women’s Clubs Spring Festival of Arts held Monday at Gus Genetti’'s. With the ex- ception of the crafts division, all first place winners will compete in the district contest. First district competition will advance to the state competition. State winners in the students’ division will receive scholarship awards from the Penn- sylvania Women’s Clubs. Although the craft winners do not advance, each club may = have a display of crafts at the district competition. The Dallas Club had two first place winners and a second place. Mrs. Alfred Hall took first prize for a macrame owl and Mrs. John Oravitz took first prize in the Miscellaneous Kit Division for a string art picture. Mrs. Edward Janosik took second prize .in the Needlepoint Kit Division for needlepoint Christmas stockings. Charlot M. Denmon) The Holy Thursday Communion service for the Lehman United Methodist Charge will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Idetown. The Easter Sunrise service will be held at Leh- man at 6:30 a.m. with the Rev. The winners will ad- vance to the district con- test April 1, at Casey Inn, Scranton. first prize for its logbook in Class A clubs with more than 100 members, and first prize for its yearbook which members designed and layed out but had printed professionally. The Junior Women’s Clubs in this district spent over 200,000 volunteer hours in the 1977-78 year and raised more than $200,000 which is used for community service. The Luzerne County Clubs raised about half of that amount and spent about 100,000 hours. Ee er oper LL Charges vs. WB man dismissed Charges of burglary and unlawful taking against Wilkes-Barre resident Terry Lee Campbell, also - known as Terry North, were dismissed by District Magistrate Earl Gregory in a preliminary hearing held in his. chambers, Shavertown, Tuesday morning. Campbell, of 607 Fellows Ave., Wilkes-Barre, was accused of entering the building owned by Joseph and Agnes Krainz, Lake Catalpa Road, Dallas Township, on March 10 and stealing a vacuum cleaner and two firearms. Campbell faces a preliminary hearing in another community in the near future on charges of receiving stolen property there. Students of the Dallas Senior High School are busily rehearsing for their spring production of Cole Porter’s zany musical comedy Anything Goes, to be presented at the Senior High Auditorium on April 6, 7 and 8. 3 The plot unfolds on a luxury cruise between New York and London on the SS American. The passenger list includes some very unlikely characters such as Reno Sweeny, evangelist turned night club singer and Moonface Miller, public enemy number 13 disguised as a priest. The Musical is highlighted by many well- known Porter tunes: “It’s D’lovely,” “I Get a Kick Out of You,” and the title song, ‘‘Anything Goes.” With the elements of great tunes and crazy characters combined this show is sure to provide the community with a memorable evening.
