PAGE EIGHT Members of the New Community Singers are preparing for a series of Christmas programs that will be fiven throughout “Wyoming Valley starting ~ on Dec. 2 and ending on Dec. 19. : _ For the past 10 weeks rehersals have been held to prepare for the lovliest season of all “Christmas”. th» program will be en- titled *‘Christmas Is” the proeranm will include selections from the Baroque era from J.S. Bach and Handel's Messiah, traditional and sacred hymns, carols and Christmas songs that hold special memories for all of us to put you in the holiday mood. Ending the program will be a sing-a-long of favorite carols. On Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. and Dec 4 at 3 p.m. the program will get underway as they participate in the multiethnic Holiday Fair to be presented at the Luzerne County Cour- thouse. The. public is in- vited to attend, free of charge. Mr. and Mrs. Frederick 0. Waage, teachers at College Misericordia, have been appointed by the American Institute for BP a Foreign Study (AIFS) to aecompany a group of students on an educational travel program abroad. On © this program, ‘Ireland--The Emerald Isle”, students will visit the cities of Limerick, Dublin, Killarney and Cork where they will have the opport- unity to study the folk- singing, poetry, theater and customs of the Irish people. After visiting Ireland they will go on to Holyhead in North Wales, across England to London where they will depart for home. The club president, Mrs. Evan Bonawitz, called the meeting to order. The group recited the Junior Chip Hoffecker, a Red Cross representative, spoke to the group on the importance of supporting the blood drive and giving blood. He told the group that Northeastern Penn- sylvania is the third largest blood center in the state, serving 48 hospitals. pledge. Church in Centermoreland was the setting Saturday afternoon at 2 for the marriage of Miss Denise Sudosky and Robert Stolarick. Rev. Father Thomas Croghan, pastor, offered the nuptial mass and performed the ceremony. Bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Sudosky, Lower Demunds Road, RD 6, Dallas. Mr. Stolarick is the son of Mrs. Joan Estus, RD 4 Dallas, and John Stolarick of Wyoming. Miss Darlene Sudosky, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Attendants were Misses. Karen Kern, Bonnie Slezak and Debbie Stolarick, sister of the bridegroom. Larry Titus was best man. Ushers were Stephen Sudosky, Kenneth Dulski, and Kenneth Wright. Miss Lori Dulsky was flower girl and Ricky Titus was ring bearer. A reception followed at the Knights of Columbus Home in Luzerne, after which the couple left on a motor tour to Niagra Falls, Canada. Upon their return they will reside on Lower Demunds Road. Bride is a graduate of Dallas Area High School and is employed at Offset Paper Back Printing Company in Dallas, where Mr. Stolarick also is em- ployed. The bride was honored at two pre-nuptial showers- one by her mother, and her mother-in-law, at the American Legion Home, Dallas-and the other by her attendants at the home of her parents. Woman’s Club sponsors party On Wednesday, Nov. 30 the Dallas Woman's - Club will sponsor a card party at the Gate of Heaven auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Proceeds of the party will be applied to the many charities the Woman's Chairman of the affair is Mrs. Arthur _ Culver; honorary chairman, Mrs. William Coburn, president of the club. Tickets are available from any member of the club or at the door.
