Book Week Fourteen new members were presented to the Harveys Lake Womens Service Club at the November dinner meeting held Nov. 3 at the Flagstone House, Harveys Lake. The meeting was called to order by President Mrs. Bradley Ide and turned over to Mrs. Walbridge Leinthall who conducted the installation ceremony. Assisting Mrs. Leinthall were Mrs. Margaret Weiss, membership chairman, and Mrs. S. Richard Strazdus, home life chairman. Each new member was presented by a resume read by Mrs. Leinthall and installed in a candlelight ceremony. Mrs. John Davis, president of The Luzerne County Womens Clubs welcomed the new luck in future club activities. Committee PODS followed the ceremony: Finance Chairman, Mrs. J. Elliott Ide gave a report on the recent rummage and bake saleand thanked Mrs. William Davis and Mrs. Nicholas DiVeronica for doing such a good job. Mrs. Ide then introduced Mrs. Clarence Hogan as chairman of the upcoming hoagie sale to be held on Nov. 28. Mrs. Hogan asked that all orders for hoagies be in by Nov. 21. Orders may be placed with any club member. Following the remaining committee reports, the club was entertained by ‘“‘Harmony’’, a group of girls from King’s College Folk Group. Although all are members of the Glee Club, these young women are a separate group who practice and perform on their own time and do their own arrangements of popular songs. Sopranos: Mary Beth Vacante, Donna Pierce and Karen Zorzi. Second Sopranos: Karin Edwards, and Barbara Bartkovitz. Altos: Janice Ritz, Donna Butchko, Kathy Vacante, and Paula Miscavage.
