Holy days All Saints Day and All souls Day, two of the most solemn holy days on the Roman Catholic Church calendar, will be observed on Tuesday and Wed- nesday, Nov. 1 and 2, in area Catholic churches. All Saints Day will be observed by Catholics on Tuesday; All Souls Day on Wednesday. The Rev. Father Thomas Croghan, pastor of St. Frances Cabrini Church, Carverton, and its sister parish, Blessed Sacrament Church in Centermoreland, has announced special masses for both churches for the two holy days. The former Alice Marcy, she was born at Lake Carey and was a graduate of Coughlin High School. A registered nurse, she was a graduate of Philadelphia General Hospital School of Nursing. She was the widow of Carl T. Merritt. Mrs. Merritt was a former member of Forty Fort United Methodist Church and Dallas United Methodist Church. Surviving are a son, John B., Bath; twin daughters, Mrs. Eennis W. Carroll, Bladensburg, Md.; Mrs. Elizabeth Jay, Arlington, Va.; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandehildren: sisters, = Mrs. Walter Holborn, Orlando, Fla.; Mrs. Robert Trembath, Tunkhannock. ROSCOE HARDEN Mrs. Roscoe Harden, 67, Trucksville, died Oct. 18 at Valley Crest. Born in Nanticoke, she was the former: Virginia Rhodes. She was a member of Trucksville United Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband; son, Myron Lynn Phillips, Bethlehem; two grandchildren. GLENDON R. SHAVER Glendon R. Shaver, 47, of RD 1 Dallas Township died Oct. at Dallas Motel where he resided. He was Trucksville. Surviving is a brother, born in Arthur, Clarks Summit. Funeral was Friday with interment in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville. STEPHEN DUDASCIK Stephen Dudascik, 41 Susquehanna Ave., Dallas, died Oct. 17 in Mercy Hospital. Born in Edwardsville, he moved to Dallas in 1954. He was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Kingston. Dudascik was employed 17 years by Metropolitan Wire Goods Company, retiring in 11974. Surviving are his widow, the former Catherine Harabin; son, Stephen, at home; daughters, Mrs. Andrew Chopyak, West Nanticoke; Mrs. John Kasarda, Chapel Hill, N.C.; one grandchild; brother, George, Orange; sister, Mrs. Julia Kach-, mar, Wilkes-Barre. Funeral was Oct. 20 with Divine Liturgy in St. Mary's BC Church. In- terment was in the parish cemetery, Pringle. Nov. 20, has been designated as Loyalty Sunday for the Trucksville United Methodist Church, the day the members will pledge their support for the financial program of the Church for the coming year. “Out Year of Decision” is the theme chosen by the Finance Committee for 1978. A joint meeting of the Joy Class and U.M.W. of the Kunkle United [Methodist Church was held recently at the church. Twenty-two members of the combined groups were present to watch. Mrs. Eunice Sorber demon- strated the art of cake decorating. Following the demon- stration brief business meetings were held. The Joy Class will hold their annual dinner meeting at the Arena Room of the Host Motel, Wilkes-Barre, on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 1977. Members and guests will meet at 5:30 p.m. at Dodson’s Store, Kunkle. An active beginning has set the pace for the activities at the Children’s School, a nursery school in the Dorranceton United Methodist Church in Kingston now in its third successful year. The school offers: a variety of activities for children age 2% years to prekindergarten. Getting acquainted with the making of simple foods has been an exciting project doubly enjoyed at snack time, The children preparation of their own french toast, pudding, jello, chocolate chip cookies, frosting cupcakes, and toasting pumpkin seeds. Field trips also are a favorite learning experience. In the first weeks of school the children have been to the Kingston Post Office, the Children’s Museum, ' and the Petting Zoo. Cheri Levenson, the school’s teacher, encourages each child to share his-her own feelings and thoughts during group time. Special items from home are brought in for show and tell and each of the children enjoy adding their = own related experiences, to stories which are told. Serving on the finance committee are: Rev.
