This year the Dallas Recreation Center will raise money for new equip- ment and activities by sponsoring a car wash. The car wash will be held at Wesley's Gas Station, Memorial Highway in Dallas, on Saturday, July 23 from 10 a.m. til 3 p.m. Children will be selling tickets throughout the Back Mountain area for the next few weeks. Donation is $1.00. A miniature golf trip will be held on Thursday, July 14, at Crossin’ minature golf on Memorial Highway. Children are asked to meet at the center at 1 p.m. with. their money and a signed ‘permission slip. All child- ren going on the trip must be at least five years old. A pet show will be held at the center on Tuesday, July 19 at 1 p.m. Categories A make-up contest will be held at the center on Monday, Aug. 1, at 1 p.m. categories will include prettiest, ugliest, funniest, and most unusual. Anyone can participate but all interested must bring their own make-up. On Wednesday, July 27 the center will sponsor a 20- mile bike hike. The hike will begin at 10 a.m. All interested must register at the center by Friday, July 22, and must be 12 years old or above. An entry fee of $1 is required. " A roller-skating trip is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 3 and a bowling trip will be held on Thursday, Aug. 18.
