That familiar auctioneer message again is returning to public TV 44 when the eighth annual “Auction 44” telecast is conducted June 5-11. It’s the time when viewers at home bid on a fantastic array of new merchandise, arts and antiques--all donated to public television by regional merchants, business, industry and porting. public TV through “Auction 44” funding. The auction boards will be filled with merchandise and other unique items which will have a retail value of $125,000 plus. The first auction day, Sunday, June 5, from 4 to 11 p.m. is devoted exclusively to arts and antiques. The public is invited to attend an arts and antiques preview Saturday, June 4, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Boston Rd., Pittston, Pa. The merchandise auction begins Monday, June 6, and runs through Saturday night, June 11.- Air time each evening at 6:15 p.m. The entertaining auction game already has rounded up some great major gifts for this year’s June 5-11 auction. The Mercury Monarch will go to the highest bidder on . “Auction 44’s” final night, but bidding will be carried out each evening as the excitement increases. The ‘“‘Auction 44” merchandise go-getters (volunteers who solicit merchandise for the auction boards) are now visiting area business for auction merchandising donations retailing at $30 or more.
