The district meeting was held at the Pocono Sheraton Inn, Stroudsburg, where the Dallas Junior Women’s Club, again took first place in logbook . and yearbook competition. Stefanie Michael won first prize in children’s sewing division, first through sixth grades. The district winners will go on to compete with winners from the Commonwealth of the Penn Harris Hotel in Harrisburg. April Chamberlain won first place in the student art division at the Pennsylvania Northeast District judging held recently at Stroudsburg. She was sponsored in the competition as the winner of the show of the Harveys Lake Women’s Service Club. Her entry a pen and ink of a Panda, previously won first place at Harveys Lake I April Chamberlain and at the Luzerne County judging in Wilkes-Barre. She will next enter state competition in the ‘Festival of Arts” sponsored by the Pennsylvania Federation of Women’s Clubs in Harrisburg. Miss Chamberlain is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter E. Chamberlain, senior at Lake-Lehman High School and is a member of the band, yearbook staff and is presently assisting with the production of the senior play. She has been accepted at | Luzerne County Community College where she will major in commercial art.
