PAGE TWO HARD TO BELIEVE--These members of Junior Girl Scout Troop 636 find it hard to believe that all those little holes in a tape turns out to be copy for the newspaper as they watch Eleanor Rende, Dallas Post typesetter, during Religious Viewpoint by Clyde Dupin Note: Clyde Dupin is to be the featured speaker at a series of meetings in Luzerne County in April 1977 In America, as never before, we need preachers, politicians, educators and ordinary laymen with the commitment and courage of the prophets mentioned in the Bible. Our public leaders should once again in decision making ask the question, ‘‘Is It Right?’’ The Bible says, “Righteousness exalteth a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” The true spirit of America can only be received when there is spiritual renewal and a new awareness of God’s rightful place in our nation. The hope for the future lies in continually renewed churches of committed Christians reaching out in love to this generation. We often hear America called a Christian nation. Our only right to this distinction is that our foundations were strongly shaped by Christian principles, giving the nation a sense of identity, destiny and character. The people of this generation must decide what kind of religious commitment will shape the future of the next generation. / Dallas: The theme of the ser- vices on the Lehman United Methodist Charge for the second Sunday of Lent is “True Harmony.” There will be special musical presentations.
