Rr | — ie ni In order i prevent the tragic deaths of ill or impoverished persons, the Public Utility Commission of Pennsylvania now re- quires gas, water and elec- tric companies to allow customers the option of deisignating a ‘‘Third Party’ to be notified if there is a possibility of shut-off of services. - The “Third Party” is not aan liable. Although not required by law, many telephone companies have volunteered to provide this service as well. The Luzerne-Wyoming Counties Office for the Aging said such notifi- cation is especially import- ant for persons 60 years of age and older who may not have close friends or rela- tives. The office has reached an agreement with Pennsylvania Power & Light, U.G.L.
