softball game, May 3, the
Dallas Yankees edged the
Shavertown White Sox, 21-
20 on a bases loaded walk
in the eighth inning. The
extra inning game was
pitched by Chris and Joni
Dombek for the Yankees
and a trio of Koleen
Morgan, Kim Reese and
Cathy Newhart for the
White Sox. Koleen Morgan
and Missy Owens knocked
out the only doubles in the
Wame. Umpires were

lost 11-6 to the Dallas
Orioles on May 5. Judy
Sholtis, pitcher for the
Orioles, hit a double and
wor in five runs. Lynn
“Busch and Tracey Thomas
each came through with
two baggers. Other runs
batted in were by Tracey
McDermott, Kim Kret-
chmer, and Lynn Busch.
On the mound for the Red
Sox were Vicki Martin,
Lori Eveland, and Tammy
Hons. Vicki Martin hit a
double and was credited
with two RBI’s. Lori
Eveland and Tammy Hons
had one RBI each. Um-
pires were Bob Owens,
Carol Laczko and Bob
Grieves.
The Dallas Royals took
the Lehman Angels 14-8,
May 6, behind Joanne
Besecker’s' pitching. The
Angels pitching was shared
by Jane Ashton and Doreen
Askew. Starring at bat for
the Angels were Debbie
Romanski with a triple,
Paige Belasco and Lynn
Ritts with doubles. Um-
pires were Nancy Schmidle
and Joe Lehon.
Dallas Yankees edged
the Shavertown Red Sox 5-4
on May 7. Janice
Steinkirschner was on the
mound for the Yankees.
Rena Tonchak was the key
Yankees. Pitching for the
Red Sox were Tammy
Hons, Diane Gdovin and
Vicki Martin.
On May 8 Dallas Orioles
took the Dallas Yankees 27-
22. Sheri Ciccarelli’ and
Kim Kretchmer pitched for
the Orioles. Kim Kret-
chmer starred at the plate
with a homerun, triple and
a double. Lynn Busch had a
homerun and Judy Sholtis
knocked out a double and a
triple. Taking the mound
for the Yankees were Jane
Abrantes, Joni Dombek
and Chris Dombek. Joni
Dombek hit a homerun and
Rena Tonchak drove out a
three bagger. Dombek and
Carson were credited with
a double play. Umpires
were Jim Reese and Don
Busch.

Tigers 37-18, May 8.

Ray Krombel, the

star, took two firsts taking

was a four time winner
coming in first in the 120
HH, the triple jump and as
a member of the two mile
relay team and mile relay
team.
The Mountaineers were
without the services of
their star, John Majewski,

for the Cardinals. Greg
Sorber hit ahomerun for
the Red Sox.
Dallas Dodgers defeated
the Trucksville Tigers by a
lopsided 10-1 score on May
7. Brock Bullock and W.
Grabenstetter did the
pitching for the Dodgers.
Chris Evans hurled for the
Tigers. Jeff Corcoran hit a
homer for the Dallas team.
On Saturday, the
Shavertown Red Sox won
the first game by defeating
a price that's a steal.
