Arnaud of Huntsville Road, Dallas, have announced the engagement and ap- proaching marriage of their daughter Gwen Eliza- veth, to Frederick G. i son of Mr. and s. Frederick J. Neuman of Allison Park, Pa. Miss Arnaud, a graduate of Dallas High School, re- ceived a B.S. degree in health science from Slippery Rock State Westmoreland College. She also attended Bethany College, Bethany, W. Va. Neuman graduated from Hapton High School, Allison Park and received a B.A. degree in economics from Bethany College, Bethany, W. Va. He is em- ployed by American Motors Corporation as a district sales manager. The wedding will take place in early April. Heart screen Mrs. Richard Orlowski has announced that ap- pointments for the heart screening program have been closed. The response overwhelming and it is unfortunate that everyone could not be accomodated. Plans to expand the program next year are under consideration. The heart screening program is sponsored Junior Woman's Club in cooperation with the American Heart Association, Northeastern Pennsylvania Chapter. This year’s program will be held March 8 thru March 12 at the Dallas Intermediate School. On Nov. 18, Gate of Heaven Parish = will celebrate its 25th an- niversary. Two ceremonies will be held in honor of this event. Thursday, Nov. 18 a Jackson PTA features Charles James Lehman-Jackson Elementary PTA meeting in the multi-purpose room of the school. The speaker for the evening will be Charles James, elementary principal. His topic will be school policies and curriculum. There will be Refreshments will be served. All are invited to attend the meeting. Harkins to exhibit Cora Mariae Harkins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kozak, RD 1, Dallas, will present an art exhibit at College Misericordia on March 6, 7, and 8. A senior art major at will exhibit works created as an undergraduate at the college. Included will be acrylics, sculpture, ceramics, and some watercolors. Featured will be special, sculptured paintings. The exhibit will be held in Kennedy Lounge at the college and will be open to the public without charge from 9 to 9. A public reception will be held on March 6 from 7 to 11. Library begins sewing The : Back Mountain Library has recently begun a sewing patie. = exchange program, thanks to Mrs. Scouts of Troup 636, who gathered together patterns and decorated boxes to put them in. Anyone who has a sewing pattern they no longer use and who needs one in a different style or size can come to the library, leave their pattern in the box and pick out a different one.
