Following her farwell
speech and her warmest
thanks to the Society, Mrs.
Walter Weir, out-going
president, turned the
meeting over to Mrs. Rose
Wolensky.

welcomed the society's
new officers, Mrs. Joseph
Sitar, first vice president;
Mrs. Arthur Seagrave-
Daly, second vice-
president; Mrs. Robert
Leonard, secretary; and
Mrs. William Cutter,

The Trucksville United
Methodist U.M.Y.F. is
holding a spaghetti supper
on Jan. 17.
Supper will be served at
the Trucksville = UM
educational building,

from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Takeouts will be at 4:30
p.m. Please bring your
own container.
Tickets will be sold at the
door. They are $1.25 for
children under twelve,
$1.75 for adults.

begin
in Dallas
A series of Bible talks
were started Jan. 11 in the
1.0.0.F. hall above Fino’s
Pharmacy, Dallas.
The meetings will be held
each Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
and each Friday at 7:30
p.m. during the month of
January.
They will be conducted
by Dan Nicolaisen and
Tom Nussbaum. The
public is invited.

members. She holds an

Methodist Church.

TEMPRINE
Mrs. Joseph Temprine,
163 Terrace Ave., Trucks-
ville, died Jan. 10 at her
home.
Born in Edwardsville,
the former Josephine
Rolintus, she resided in
Luzerne many years
before moving to Trucks-
ville in 1948. She was a
member of St. Ann's
Church; Luzerne.
Surviving are her hus-
band; brothers, William
and John Rolinitus,
Detroit.
Funeral was Tuesday
from Betz Funeral Home,
568 Bennett St. Luzerne,
with Mass of Christian
Burial at 9 in St. Ann’s
Church. Interment was in
the parish cemetery, Leh-
man.
MRS. HAROLD BELLES
Mrs. Harold Belles, 53, of
Valley View Trailer Park,
Dallas RD 3, died Jan. 11 in
General Hospital.
Born April 30, 1922, in
Kingston, the former Mary
Sink, she was the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey
Sink, Trucksville. She re-
sided in Trucksville 45
years before moving to
Dallas six months ago.
Mrs. Belles was a member
of Pilgrimage Baptist
Church, Shavertown.
Surviving in addition to
her parents are her hus-
band; children, William,
Trucksville; Mrs. James
Lorah, Kingston; David
W., Robert J. and Betty
Jane, Dallas; six grand-
children; sister, Mrs.
Elizabeth Keast, Trucks-

died Jan. 8 in Wyoming
Valley Hospital, nine hours
after birth.
His mother is the former
Yukie Sakaida.

LOUISE RHODES
Louise I. Rhodes, 84, of
115 Rice Street, Trucks-
ville, died at her home Jan.
5, following a lengthy
illness.
Born in Plymouth, she
was a daughter of the late
Henry and Margaret
Howell Isaac. She was a
resident of Trucksville for
53 years.
Prior to retiring, she was
a well known piano in-
structor ‘and was the
organist and choir director
at ‘the Trucksville United
Methodist Church for
many years. She was a
member of that church and
the WSCS of that church.
She was also a member
of the Cambrian Club of
Wilkes-Barre.
Surviving are her hus-
band, William; a daughter,
Mrs. Margaret Anthony,
Bethlehem; sons, William
Jr., Avondale and Paul of
Milport, Pa.; 10 grand.
children and six great
grandchildren.
Funeral was held from
the Blight Funeral Home,
392 Wyoming Avenue,
Kingston, Jan. 7 with the
Rev. E. Lee Brehm, of-
ficiating.
Burial was in Fern Knoll
Cemetery.
IRA BURTON SMITH
Ira Burton Smith, 53, of
Dallas RD 1, died Jan. 9 in
Nesbitt Memorial Hospital,
Kingston, after suffering a
heart attack.
Born April 4, 1922, in
Luzerne, he resided in
Dallas the last 18 years. He
was employed 14 years as a
salesman by Motor Twins,
Kingston. He was a grad-
uate of Princeton Univer-
sity and was an Army
veteran of World War II.
Mr. Smith was a member
of Union Gospel Church,
Beaumont.
Surviving are his widow,
the former Norma White-
sell; son, Brent,
Meshoppen; one grandson;
brothers Herbert, Hyatts-
ville, Md. ; Clinton,
Hanover; William, Forty
Fort; sisters, Mrs. Donald
Morris, Philadelphia; Mrs.
Peter Delaney, King of
Prussia.

Mrs. Lynn W. Perrin, 68,
of 20 Bernice St., Johnson
City, N.Y., died Jan. 7 in
Johnson City.
The former Isabelle
Deater, she was born at
Harveys Lake June 25,1907,
and resided in Noxen for 20
years prior to moving to
Johnson City 45 years ago.
She was a member of First
Assembly of God Church,
Binghamton, N.Y.

Rev. Charles H. Frick,
age 97, died January 1, in
Doylestown Manor Nur--
sing Home, Doylestown,
Pa. He was born in
the late Michael C. and
Harriet Simons Frick.
He was a chaplain in
World War I and World
War II and served in
France during World War
1. He also was a chaplain
for the 109th Field Ar-
tillery, Kingston, and a
member of the Kingston
American Legion Post.
and founder of the West
of Wyoming Valley Min-
strel Association, founder
and builder of Firewood
Christian Church, Wilkes-
Barre Christian Church,
and Wyoming Avenue
Christian Church.
Rev. Frick was in-
terested in nature and
photography. ’
He graduated from
Hiram College, Hiram,
Ohio, and spent 70 years in
the pulpit of churches in
and around Wilkes-Barre.
He is survived by his
wife, Bessie J. Frick,
Doylestown; sons, Paul,
Reston, Va.; Earl J.,
Doylestown; John Frick,
Toms River, NJ.

and returned to Wilkes-
Barre one year ago. He

years as plant engineer by
Eberhard Faber, Moun-
taintop, retiring in 1970.
