three way
before starting second half
play and playoffs held the
spotlight early this week.
Beaumont under the
managership of Bob
Makarty, Noxen, tutored
by Jim Barbacci, and Dick
Hislop's Orange-
Centermoreland Yankees
finished first half play with
identical 6-2 records for the
top spot. At Friday night's
meeting of league
managers, it was decided
to suspend the start of
second half play and stage
a playoff between the three
teams to decide the first
half winner. Beaumont
drew the bye and was
scheduled to meet the
winner of the O-C Yankees-
Noxen game, which was
scheduled for Saturday but
rained out after three
innings of play, and
rescheduled for Monday
evening. »
