These boys conducted a candlelight ceremony of advancement Wednesday night for Boy Scout Troop 242 at Huntsville Christian Church. Boy ‘Scout Troop 242, Hunt- sville, celebrated the troop’s first anniversary with an ad- vancement of rank for 14 boys, and the awarding of 26 merit badges. Mountain District Boy Scout executive, Bruce Robinson, made the presen- tations and congratulated the young troop for the many ac- complishments of individual boys du one year. Senior patrol leader, Robert Weidner, gave the welcoming address to the 40 parents, scouts and friends attending. Williard Russell is Scoutmaster. Griffiths Completes Training Airman Bruce W. Griffiths, son of Mr, and Mrs. Cedric R. Griffiths, 225 Clearview Ave., Trucksville, has been assigned to Lowry AFB, Colo., after com- pleting Air Force basic train- ing. During his six weeks at the Air Training Command’s Lack- land AFB, Tex., he studied the Ait Foree mission, organization and customs and received special instruction in human relations. The airman has been assign- ed to the Technical Traifing Center at Lowry for specialized training in the munitions and weapons maintenance field. Airman Griffiths is a 1972 graduate of Dallas Senior High School. It seems roam our area, deposit wherever they feel like, and overturn garbage pails. If this situation doesn’t improve, he will ask the dog catcher to patrol the Oak Hill area, pick-up any stray dogs, and in turn, the owners will be fined.
