Any time you feel depressed or are in need of a change of scenery, visit New York City. You'll be so glad to return home, you will wonder why you went in the first place. I really love New York, visiting friends, relatives, shopping in those fantastic stores, the excitement of Broadway, but the noise and commotion is something else. When you are in the Back Mountain area, you don’t realize how few times you use your car horn. In New York, one hand is constantly on the horn. The best part is when you have to park the car on a narrow street that is two-way and you haven’t seen a sidewalk in ages. The helpful neighbors come out and start directing you, “turn the wheel’, ‘‘cut it hard’, ‘‘pull up’, ‘‘get closer’. At this point you're ready to run over the helping hand, smash the gar- bage can that was left by the curb and head back home to Pennsylvania, thankful that you don’t belong to ‘Fun City” anymore. For College Misericordia, the Christmas Madrigal is perhaps the entertainment coup of the year, as the affair invariably sells out early. Henion, Commander of the U.S. Army Recruiting Command, said the new option ‘reflects an exciting opportunity for young men and women to experience a valuable addition to their lives and at the same time render an important national service. ‘Our research indicates there are a good many young men and women in this country who would enlist in the Volunteer Army if they could arrange a two-year tour as an initial en- listment,” he said.
