Two of his children, George, now married to the former Marie Michaels of Edwardsville and employed at UGI; and Gary, sophomore at Marquette University, Wis., where he is majoring in political science, are graduates of Dallas High School, while his daughter, Donna, is now a junior at the Dallas Senior High School and a member of the cheerleading squad. : Ted joined the Dallas Ameri- can Legion when he first moved to oe and plays an active role in: He has been a member of the board of directors for five years. He also serves as novelty chairman for the club which in- cludes jackets, pennants, pins, etc., promoting the Dallas High School student athletes, and like most of the boosters, he can be found working in one of the stands during halftime at foot- ball games. Ted has been involved in Little League for about 13 years, he stills does umpiring on a limited basis, despite the fact that his boys have long out- grown the league.” He served first as coach or manager for Dallas and later became an ac- tive umpire. He is presently a member of the recreation association of Dallas and is among the group who has been successful in building the area on Burndale Avenue where there are facil- ities for tennis, basketball, and general play. There is also a small building for indoor sports during inclement weather. In the future, the association plans an area for younger children in the same vicinity. The civic-minded and pro- gressive Dallas resident is also a member of the Industrial Management Club of Wyoming Valley, whose primary purpose is to keep management person- nel updated on current adminis- trative techniques. Ted and his family are mem- bers of Gate of Heaven Church, where he is active in the Holy Name Society and his wife, Olga is a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Like her husband, Olga is also interested in high school sports and attends most of the games. She also enjoys bowling and is a member of the Dallas Senior Woman's Club team. The Kostrobalas like travel- ling and last year they observed their 25th wedding anniversary by taking a cruise to Nassau. They believe in seeing America first, and have toured New Eng- land, the mid-West and the Southern States. Each year, they spend their vacation visit- ing a new area of the U.S.A. Although he did not bowl this past year, Ted thoroughly en- joys the sport and in the past was a member of two leagues at Crown Imperial Lanes. During the eoming season, he plans to bowl with the George Shupp League. His second favorite sport is baseball, whether it be as a participant or a spectator. As a spectator he rarely misses any type of sports event on tele- vision and, when possible, at- tends local events. He does his own renovating and remodeling in or about their home and with help from Olga and other members of the family, takes care of the land- scaping which results in an attractive yard. Each year, Ted plants a small garden alongside his home which supplies the Kostrobalas with table vegetables during the season. What does he think about the enjoy it here. Would never re- turn to a large city with the ex- ception of returning to visit family and friends. We have a progressive area but I would hate to see it become too big and lose its casual, informal pace of suburban living.” Ted finds the people in the area willing to make friends and easy to work with on com- munity projects. The people find the Kostrobalas ‘neighbors they like to have here.” THE DALLAS POST, JUNE 28, 1973 Ted Kostrobala PNET RNAP HLH AP ALD NL FN ADIL HIP Sl the Florist NORTH PIONEER AVENUE SHAVERTOWN, PA. 18708 We will be for vacation the § 3 week of July 1.
