Page 16 by Millie Hogoboom There has been a lot of water over the dam since this day last summer. But it is still hard to believe that a whole year has passed since the Agnes flood. Slowly her victims are begin- ning to show signs of optimism as more and more families are completing their renovations and returning to their pre-flood homes. It’s amazing what new paint, paper, furniture and rugs will do to bolster the morale on the home-front. More and more HUD trailers are leaving our valley. Almost like the first Thanksgiving, June 23 should be a time of joyful celebration and giving of thanks for all that has been accomplished in this year. The follow- ing night, June 13, their guests were the staff and the board of directors and their wives of the Nesbitt Memorial Hospital. This was a night of special nostalgia, for the 57th Nesbitt nurses commencement will be its last. They entertained June 16 at a birthday party in honor of their granddaughter, Geraldine Nesbitt, who was 8 years old. Pony rides and swim- ming were planned for the 30 children who attended, but the weather forced their activities indoors. In fact, would you be- lieve the Nesbitts had rain for two of their three parties? For- tunately it is pretty hard to dampen the spirits of a group of graduates or a gaggle of giggly girls. John and Marian Ferenbach of Bristol, Tenn., former re- sidents of Butler Street, King- ston, were recent house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Weaver of Sutton Road.
