Gartner, last year’s general campaign chairman, thanked his cam- paign workers for making the year a success. Despite a delay- ed start because of the flood, Mr. Gartner said, the campaign was able to enlist 344 benefac- tors, more than any previous year. Mr. Gartner admitted that he had been skeptical in the beginning of the campaign be- cause of the flood but was glad that his executive committee had encouraged him to follow through. Mr. Gartner felt that the success of Theatre 3 had en- couraged other organizations, such as the United Fund, to con- tinue with their plans. As Master of Ceremonies, Mr. Gartner introduced Mrs. Sidney er, and Mrs. Betty Schuler, gen- eral campaign chairman for the 1973-74 drive. Citing her goal as 400 benefactors, Mrs. Schuler introduced her team captains and called for the continued support of the benefactors pre- sent, several of whom renewed their memberships that even- ing. A graduate of the theatre de- partment of Bloomsburg State College, Bruce is a former high school drama teacher. He has acted previously with the New Jersey Shakespeare Festival, the Matrix Players in New York City, and has directed child- ren’s theatre at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
