Offset Paperback League finished up the first half with the Beavers making it 3 over the Bears, the Lions tapping the Mustangs for 3, third place Bucks dropping everything to the Camels, and fourth spot Mavericks picking up 2 ' from the Leopards. In remaining matches the Pintos copped 3 from the Colts; the Cougars were successful with 3 from the Panthers, and the Cubs earned 3 points from the Wolves. High scores were few and hard to get with the only big ones rolled by B. Bicking 211, F. Fondo 209, G. Shonk 204 (590), Rick R. 209, and Barb Bonning 180. In the second week of the second half, Carverton A is in first place in the Back Mountain Church League. Mt. Zion is in second, one-half game out and tied for thirdiare Orange A and Shavertows#n3 at 6-2 each. Garrahan came up with 170 for the launderettes. In St. Paul’s Brotherhood League, the Tigers started off in first place this half by shutting out the Hawks. The Owls took 3 points from the Mustangs and the Falcons did the same to the Eagles to tie for second. A. Whiting lambasted the maples for 213-222 (618), R. Mociun put up a big 224, W. Gosart scat- tered pins for 207, and J. Titus just made 200. 132-pound trophy he received as ‘Most Outstanding Wrestler’ in the Wilkes-Barre Area Invitational Holiday Tournament held in the Dallas High School gym Dec. 30. Tentative Opening Dates Set for 73 Tentative opening dates for 1973 hunting seasons have been established by the Penn- sylvania Game Commission. The archery deer season this year is tentatively scheduled to open Sept. 29. The Mounts’ S. Pinter won a super. 14-3 decision over 98- pound D. Walsh in the opening bout to give his team 4 points. Then the local grapplers fell behind when the Crusaders’ 109- pound B. Lipfert took a 3-point 5-4 decision from D. Konnick, and their 114-pound R. Thomp- son decisioned B. Corbett 3-2 to put Coughlin out in front 6-4. The Mounts’ 121-pound G.
