Hanover, Meyers, Wyoming Valley West and Dallas are expected to battle it out for honors this year. Coach Bamrick has some fine wrestlers in top condition who should be able to spring some surprises as does Coach McGinley of the Mohawks. Two teams have new mentors at the helm this season and will meet each other opening night. Walt (Chip) Sorber will pilot the Lake-Lehman Knights and Bob Dennison will lead Wyoming Valley West. Sorber replaces John Oliver, and Dennison succeeds Bob Herman, both fine coaches. Dallas Mountaineers will be led in competition by Dave Longmore, Dave Puchalsky, Russ Johnson, Dave Konnick and Bob Spears. Capable of bringing home the laurels are Bill Corbett, Russ Thrasher and George Siegel. Fans can do well to watch Tony Musto, Earl Monk, young Bill Dierolf, Paul Adams and Skip Shook. Lake-Lehman Knights will look to Gary Ross, Jim Davis, Doug Agnew, Don Wagner, The January 3 schedule finds Dallas at Coughlin; Wyoming Valley West at Lake-Lehman; West Side Tech at Wyoming Area; and Nanticoke Area at Central Catholic. Saturday night the Moun- taineers host GAR; Coughlin is at Meyers (Coughlin gym); Crestwood at Hanover Area; and Central Catholic at West Side Tech. Last year’s season ended in a three-way tie with Hanover Area, Meyers and Wyoming Valley West. The Mountaineers had an over-all season record of 10-3 which they hope to top this year.
