The Knights are now 1-1 for the seaon in ‘“B’ Division of the Wyoming Valley Conference and 1-5 overall. The Knights got on the board early when, with 10%» minutes remaining in the first period, Joe Maskalis intercepted a third down pass play on the Lake-Lehman 44. He then took the interception and ran it back 56 yards for the touchdown. The extra point kick by Mike Kopcha was good, and gave the Knights ¥-0 edge. Lake-Li¢hman held this edge early into the second period, when Tech took the ball over from the one-yard line. The extra point attempt was no good, and the score was 7-6 in favor of the Knights. The Knights scored once again just before the half, when Al Brown hit Bob Rave on a pass play cov- ering 30 yards with 1:24 left in the first half. Angelo DeCesaris than ran the ball for the two- point cofiiersion, making the score 155 in favor of the Knights at the half. The Knights once again got on the board midway through the third period, when Angelo DeCesaris picked up a fumble and carried it 58 yards for a touchdown. Mike Kopcha'’s kick for the extra point was good, bringing the score up to 22-6 in favor of Lake-Lehman. The Titans ended the scoring late in the fourth period, when they scored on a 12-yard pass play. The conversion attempt was no good, making the final score 29-12. Leading the Knights on de- fense were Larry Pall and Cal Gensel, along with Maskalis, who intercepted a pass, and DeCesaris, who had a pass intercepticfyand a fumble re- covery. Leading the Knights’ offense was DeCesaris, who rushed for 89 yards ini 21 attempts. Legiof? Post 967 Schedules Induction The monthly meeting of the Harveys Lake American Legion Post 967 was held Oct. 3 at Casey’s Hill Top Inn with Com- mander Francis Fisher heading the event. At the meeting it was decided by unanimous vote that the annual installation dinner will not be conducted this year. In- stead a representative from District 12 will be present at the next meeting to swear in the new officers. Commander Fisher read a letter which he had received from the President of the United States. Plans were discussed for the Christm@¥i party for the child- ren of Phe community. Gene Tilghman was chosen chairman and his committee was appoint- ed as follows: Commander Fisher, Al Barcheski, Jack Smith and Carl Hettenstein. The new styles featured this year are all of the birthstones and a new facet- type, called sunburst. The rings are available in both gold and sterling silver. The senior class received their proofs back from Prest- wood Studios and have already placed their orders. Frames will be available for purchase at the time of the return of the pictures. The football team was vic- torious against West Side Tech, 29-13, Oct. 14. This week, the Knights will be hosted at Wyoming « Area Stadium (Exeter) Friday night. The junior high field trips are N.J. Molski, supervisor, Pennsylvania Game Com- mission, Dallas, has announced that a hunter safety training course will be held at the Pennsylvania Game Com- mission, located on Memorial Highway, Dallas, October 21. The entire course will be given on that ‘date. Instructions will start at 12 noon and last until 5:30 p.m. Youths who will be hunting in Pennsylvania for the first time this year are urged to take advantage of the opportunity to take this training. The eighth grade will be touring Phila- delphia, while the ninth grade will view the battlefields of Gettysburg and the State government buildings in Harrisburg. A Veterans Day assembly will be held Oct. 23 in observance of the holiday. A guest speaker and the band will participate. Senior band members were recently measured for their band jackets which will be replacing the blazers of the past few years. SAT College Boards will be administered the morning of Nov. 4 at Dallas High School. A wrestling clinic will be held at Clarion State College, Oct. 21. Jack Davis, a Lake-Lehman alumni, will be participating.
