Venice lace banding trimmed the midriff, collar, cuffs and hem. The detachable chapel length train featured a single row of miniature buttons and Venice lace. H§K elbow length veil was attached to a modified Camelot cap of ivory satin with matching The bride carried a bouquet of white carnations and daisy pom poms with white ribbons. Martha Manzick was maid of honor. She wore a floor length gown of lilac flowered organza over taffeta featuring a low, round neckline, short sleeves and skirt gathered to the bodice above the normal waistline. She carried a fireside basket of carnations and daisy pom poms with matching streamers. Matron of honor was Ann Marie Jergens, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Madonna Ondash, cousin of the bride; Ruth Sharkus and Carol Allen, classmates of the bride. The attendants wore pink gowns ‘identical to the maid of honor “and carried ‘similar fireside baskets of flowers. Al Brague served as best man. Following a dinner reception at the Columbia Hose Company, Edwardsville, the couple left on Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Rei- miller, 35 N. A family reception was held at the Irem Temple Country Club after which the couple left on a wedding trip to Bermuda. Peggy Poynton, Davenport Street, Dallas, is a true native of the Back Mountain, having been born and raised in the Trucks- The former Peggy Weigel, housewives who also work and take an active part in outside activities. In 1958 she married George Poynton of Shavertown and after living in that com- munity for six years, they moved to the ranch-style home on Davenport Street which they built themselves with some assistance from members of their family. Peggy and George have three daughters, Juli, 10, Kristel, 8 and Laura; only three months old. Because her two older girls enjoy taking care of their baby sister, Peggy finds it easy to continue in her position as legal secretary and her outside inter- Sewing is one of her part-time activities and she thinks nothing of ‘cutting out and whipping together’ a new dress for a special social affair that arises unexpectedly. Peggy is extremely fond>of the Back Mountain area and has no desire to move away. ‘I like the wide open area and I don’t worry as much about my daughters living out here in’ the country as I would if we were living in a more densely pop- ulated community. Besides, I feel as though we have roots here and wonderful friendships formed from our school years to the present.” _ Bowling is her favorite re- creation and she is treasurer of the Crown Inperialette Bowling League. She is also leader of Girl Scout Troop 640, Dallas, and thoroughly enjoys working with the girls on craft and homemaking badges. In the summer months, the entire family spends as much leisure time as possible at the lake swimming and enjoying sunshine. During the winter, they enjoy working at projects in their home, each one carry- ing out part of the work, Juli and Kristel included. Peggy’s first love, however, when she has the time is cooking, but planning menus, she admits, is a problem when you have a husband who is an ir- regular hours. She admits that she is fortunate that her girls will eat almost anything as long as it looks appetizing, so she is constantly looking for new advance and ready to serve at “any hour. Peggy has found several desserts that are favorites with her family and easy to prepare. She also has a recipe for salmon casserole that can be prepared early-in the day and reheated. Peggy admits she especially enjoys preparing desserts but shares her salmon casserole with our readers as try all three of these recipes below--we have and they are de- licious. Salmon Casserole 1-80z. pkg. elbow macaroni Y» ¢. minced onion 2 T. butter 1 c. cream of celery soup 7 3 c. milk » 1b. sharp cheese (shredded) 5 T. grated Parmesan cheese 1 t. salt Dash of pepper 5 t. dry mustard 1 pkg. frozen peas 1-11b. ec. salmon Cook and drain macaroni. Saute onions in butter, add soup, milk, cheese, and season- ings. Stir until cheese melts. Remove bones fron salmon and thaw peas slightly to separate. Combine macaroni, sauce, salmon and peas. Pour into a two-quart casserole, sprinkle with grated cheese and bake in 350 ‘oven for 30-40 minutes. Serves six persons. Serve with hot, home-made biscuits. Strawberry Angel Food Dessert 1-30z. pkg. strawberry flavored gelatin 1-10 oz. sliced frozen straw- berries 1 T. sugar Pinch of salt 5-10 inch angel food cake (torn in pieces) 1» pt. whipping cream Dissolve gelatin in 1-Y4 c. boiling water. Stir in, thawed strawberries, sugar, and salt. Cool until it begins to thicken. Fold in the cream whipped. Cover bottom of 9 inch pan with half the torn pieces of angel food cake; pour over half strawberry and cream mixture; make cake pieces; pour over remain- ing strawberry and cream mixture. Refrigerate four-five serve. Pineapple Cheese Mold 1 c. boiling water 1 c. cottage cheese 1 sm. can crushed pineapple (drained) « 5 ¢. mayonnaise 1, ¢. chopped celery V4 ¢. chopped nuts Dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Let cool for about 15 minutes. Add remaining - in- gredients. Stir until well mixed. Pour into 1 quart mold and chill until firm. Cut into squares to serve. The bride, given by her father, wore a bridal crepe gown trimmed with imported lace. The head piece also was of lace with a three tier veil of silk illusion, all designed and made by the bride. She carried a cascade bouquet of white stephanotis, baby breath, and pale pink sweetheart roses. Jane Granahan of West Pittston was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. William Scobel of Falls Church, Va., sister of the groom, and Mrs. David Valentine of Huntington, Long Island. The gowns, made by the bridesmaids, were of polyester crepe featuring pink ribbon trim, with matching ribbons for their hair. Their bouquets of statice and rainbow asters carried out the pink and purple of the dresses. Emery Simkulak was best man. Ushers were George Samito, Anthony Pero, and William and James Faerber, brothers of the bride. Mother of the bride chose pale pink and mother of the groom wore aqua. Corsages were of white tea roses. So Reception followed at Ameri- can Legion Hall in Nanticoke. Dorosky Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Dorosky, 146 Mt. Airy Road, Shavertown will observe their 30th wedding anniversary, Sept. 3. The couple were married in 1942 at Camp Forest, Tenn., where Mr. Dorosky was serving with the armed forces. The Rev. Vincent Hart, chaplain at the base, officiated. Mrs. Dorosky, the former Alice Rynevich, and Mr. Doros- the couple lived in that West Side town for a year before moving to Shavertown where they have resided for 23 years.
