ARLENE C. KUNKLE 5 Arlene | C. Kunkle, 65, of Kinkle RD 1, Dallas, died June 8 at her home. The former Arlene Cool- baugh, Mrs. Kunkle was born in Jackson Township. She was a graduate of Bloomsburg State College and taught in Back Mountain area schools for 25 years prior to her retirement from the Lake-LLehman School System. She resided in Kunkle the last 26 years and was a member ‘of the Kunkle United Methodist Church. MARY STOLARICK Mary Stolarick of 130 Perrin Ave., Shavertown, died June 7 in Wilkes-Barre General Hospi- tal. She was 79. A Larksville native, she was the former Mary Mayerski and resided in Shavertown the last 10 years. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Church, Larks- ville. She and her husband cele- brated their 56th wedding anni- versary last November. Survivors = include her widower, Stephen Stolarick; daughter, Mrs. John Moleski, Kingston; sons, Joseph, Mem- phis, Tenn.; Albert, Somerville, N.J.; George, Fernbrook; Stephen Jr., Buckingham; John, Alexandria, Va.; 23 grandchildren, 10 great-grand- children. BERNARD MCDERMOTT Fifty-six year old Bernard Francis McDermott of 11 Lackawanna Ave., Dallas, died June 8 in Medical College of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. Born in Binghamton, N.Y., he resided at Dallas the last 16 years and was employed as sales representative by Calvert Distilleries. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a former officer of Post 672, "American Legion, Dallas. He was a mem- ber of Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas. Surviving are his widow, the former Margaret Pape; child- ren, Mrs. Alfred Gilbert, Horse- heads, N.Y.;' 'Bernard Jr., his ‘mother, Kathleen Myrick, Trucksville; sister, Mrs. Edward Puzo, Shaver- town; brother, James MecDer- mott, Brea, Calif. ; five grand- children. He was a member of Glen View Primitive Methodist Church of Fernbrook, where for many years he taught Sunday school, the Men’s Bible Class and was assistant Sunday school superintendent. He is survived by his widow, the former Virginia Muchler; sisters, Ella Rood, New Albany ; Hazel Keiter, Lancaster; Kathleen Fitzgerald, Dallas. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at 2 p.m. from the Bronson Funeral Home, Sweet Valley, with the Rev. Andrew Derrick of- ficiating. Interment was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Pikes Creek. CORAY RANSOM Coray B. Ransom, a direct descendant of one of the families which settled Wyoming Valley, died Sunday afternoon at his home in Franklin Town- ship. He was 94. Born in Ceases Mills, Mr. Ransom resided on Poplar Street in Kingston for more than 60 years, and resided in Franklin Township for the three years prior to his death. Selfiemployed as.aicontractor for many’ yeafs béfore ‘his retirement 29 years ago, Mr. Ransom was responsible for building hundreds of homes on the West Side and in the Back Mountain. He was a charter member and trustee of Dorranceton United Methodist Church, Kingston, and was a 50- year member of Kingston Lodge 395, F&AM. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Henry E. Hess, with whom he resided; sons, Willis E., Babbitt, Minn.; Hugh W., Camp Hill; 13 grandchildren, 15 great- grandchildren. Roberta Lavelle, a rising junior at Central Catholic High School, and Michele Magli, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Magli, 4 Sycamore Dr., Swoyersville, will tour Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Germany. Stofko Authorized Member INTENSIVE CARE’ Troop 132 of Dallas ended its 1971-72 season with a family picnic held at the Trinity United Presbyterian church June 6. The parents were served by members of the troop who also did all the cooking. Baseball, Indian dancing, movies and door prizes rounded out the evening. Awards were presented to Jim Swepston, first Class; Bob Williams, Tenderfoot; and cooking and basketry merit badges to Sam Brokenshire. Mr. and Mrs. Rosenberger provided a congratulatory cake in honor of the troop’s winning a blue ribbon for their display booth on lunar camping at the Scout-O-Rama, held at the Kingston Armory June 2 through 4. Patches were presented to Bob Williams Paul Schaffer and John Grif fy or ticket sales. Parents and scouts of Troop 132 will be informed in Sep- tember as to the first meeting date for the 1972-73 season.
