Equipment and men from the Dr. "Henry M. ‘Laing Fire Company, Dallas, were dispatched to the home of John T. Lyons, 129 White Birch Lane, Elmerest, at 1:30 a.m: Under the direction of Fire Chief Donald Shaffer, some 15 men battled the blaze for two hours. Flames were discovered between an outside wall and fireplace chimney and paneling had to be ripped away from the siding to get to the con- flagration. After the fire was ex- tinguished at approximately 3:30 a.m., ejectors were used to rid the dwelling of dense smoke. There were no reported in- juries. Write-in Votes Alan S. The compet- ition is held at the studios of WVIA-TV and is shown locally on Sunday evenings at 7:30 p.m. The competition is made up of three rounds in which the panel is quizzed on its general under- standing in the fields of physics, chemistry and biology.’ Dallas’ representatives are one of 27 teams which entered into competition March 26.
